    Mueller Water Products, Inc., is a leading manufacturer and marketer of products and services used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water in North America. Our broad product and service portfolio includes engineered valves, fire hydrants, metering products and systems, leak detection and pipe condition assessment. We help municipalities increase operational efficiencies, improve customer service and prioritize capital spending. MWP brands include Mueller®, Echologics®, Hydro Gate®, Hydro-Guard®, HYMAX®, Jones®, Krausz®, Mi.Net®, Milliken®, Pratt®, Singer®, and U.S. Pipe Valve & Hydrant.

     

    This position is a paid internship/co-op for a college student currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field.  The duration of this internship is expected to be between 3-6 months beginning in June 2020, with the possibility for extension based on business need. This position will provide entry level support to the Mueller Water Products corporate Marketing & Communications department. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.   

     

    Internship work and experiences may include any of the below mentioned tasks. Other duties may be assigned as well based on business need or learning opportunities

    • Responsible for the development and implementation of internal communications for key company initiatives (communication plans and campaigns etc.)
    • Develop internal publications such as press releases, email announcements, planned publications, on-line, intranet, video, special projects and assignments. Be the first point of contact for internal communication enquiries
    • Build close relationships to foster a team approach to communications
    • Provide marketing, public relations and event support
    • Creating social media content for platforms including Twitter and LinkedIn
    • Researching technology trends to better understand digital topics and staying up to speed on the latest industry terminology
    • Assisting with other projects as needed
    • Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing projects
    • Assist in the execution of communication materials
    • Develop strong, cooperative relationships with Company partners
    • Manage and respond to inquiries from the Corporate Branding inbox
    • Gather and edit content from subject matter experts for quarterly customer newsletter

    Required Experience:

    • Currently enrolled in or graduate of a degree program in Marketing, Communications or other related area.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Passion for the digital space and a deep understanding of digital trends and technologies
    • Knowledge about social media platforms
    • Some exposure to WordPress and Drupal is a plus

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • 3 or more years of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
