    About a quarter of the world’s drinking water leaks out of aging underground pipes before reaching anyone’s tap.  Mueller is helping to lead a global charge to change this through technological innovation.  Our innovative technologies and services allow water utilities to manage their pipelines based on reliable information regarding their condition, simply by placing sensors on Valves, Fire Hydrants and other fittings.  With custom-engineered technologies for detecting and locating leaks, as well as distinguishing healthy pipes from degraded ones, Echologics offers Water Companies a truly unique set of information gathering, non-invasively and without disrupting service.

    Our environment of technical innovation, professional integrity, individual achievement, and personal growth has allowed Echologics’ team to rapidly grow a large presence in North America.  We are now expanding Internationally and are expanding our Sales Team to support our ambitious growth targets and bring these exciting technologies to new markets.

    This position will be based in Dubai, where Mueller has existing offices, and will join our International Sales team.  The successful candidate will work closely with and report to the International Sales Director – Clean Water to promote the company, develop and close opportunities, as well as provide internal sales / admin support for the Territory.

    He/she is a self-starter and will need to be both a hunter and a farmer; building the business network personally and then work towards managing agents, distributors, and by managing high-level, large entity relationships. In addition, they will establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area and contribute to the development of technical training and specification/standard educational programs for end clients and channel partners.

    The successful candidate will be trained in Mueller’s products, technologies and services related to the clean water portfolio of the group, and will report to the International Sales Director - Clean Water to promote the company, develop and close opportunities, as well as provide internal sales / admin support for the territory.

    RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE POSITION INCLUDE:

    • Overall responsibility for Sales targets in for the Clean Water portfolio of products and services in the EMEA region, with direct line management of sales staff in the EMEA region
    • Extensive travel throughout the assigned territory, with a travel target of 50%
    • Market research / inside sales to determine potential opportunities and routes to market
    • Understanding clients’ needs, and designing solutions
    • Establishing new, and maintaining existing relationships with Customers, Reps & Distributors
    • Preparation of quotations, technical proposals, RFP and tender responses, presentations, etc.
    • Negotiating and closing sales / tenders, and after-sales support services / follow up and Forecasting
    • Recording and maintaining client contact data through company CRM system (Salesforce.com)
    • Marketing, such as attending conferences, writing technical papers and case studies, etc.
    • Other duties as may be assigned by the Company

     

    POSITION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales. Alternative qualification and experience sets will be considered
    • Sales management experience
    • Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand specifications, both from a technical and commercial perspective.
    • Candidate should be fluent in English and have excellent working knowledge of MS Office [Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint].

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Engineering degree
    • Trained and proficient in Solution Selling methodology
    • Technical experience in Non-Revenue Water management, Leak Detection, Pressure Management, Asset Management, or Pipeline Condition Assessment
    • Second language fluency in commonly used language such as Arabic, French, German or Spanish
    • Relevant Industry experience and expertise within a Clean Water environment, ideally with a background in the Clean Water sector and experience and a solid track record of selling technology products into the Clean Water sector
    • Those with experience in Clean Water sector are preferred.
    • Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand specifications, both from a technical and commercial perspective.
    • Good understanding of Europe and GCC/Middle Eastern Customers, Markets and requirements.  Knowledge of Africa an asset
