Chief Administrative Officer

MMC Corp is a national commercial construction services company based in Overland Park, KS, with numerous office locations across the United States. As a holding company, MMC Corp owns and operates as a General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor, and Building Control & Automation Contractor.

The Company is seeking to fill a newly-created role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to be responsible for overseeing the organization-wide shared services.

Nature of Work

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a member of the Senior Executive Leadership Team and participates in company-wide strategic planning and management. The CAO will report to the CEO and provide periodic updates to the Board of Directors. The CAO has overall management responsibility for Shared Services (Legal, Marketing/Communications, Risk & Safety, Information Technology, and oversight of the National Purchasing Agreement Program). The CAO plays a critical overall leadership role within the company by devising strategies to meet the organization's objectives. Owns operational responsibility for the performance of the shared services departments and provides a critical voice for each area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Building relationships with all Senior Operational Leaders in all P+L's and offices across the company
• Providing coaching and guidance to the corporate functions that report into this role
• Assisting with the establishment of short-term and long-range departmental strategies and goals to drive performance while supporting operational areas
• Overseeing, following and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures and structures. Managing overall resource allocation provided by allocated functional areas, evaluating leadership performance
• Exercising initiative or as directed, performing additional duties to meet the needs of the organization

Scope

Responsible for the work of others directly or through subordinates, supervising management level positions; responsible for overseeing area budgets and monitoring functional areas' results.

Qualifications

Education

A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.

Experience

• 12-15+ years of successful Management experience leading and developing teams in a large, high-powered organization focused on growth
• Familiarity with the workings of a shared services model essential
• Experience gained in construction, engineering or manufacturing (strongly preferred)
• Background working in an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) organization an asset
• Successful candidate will have previously led functional team(s) in areas such as Legal, Marketing/Communications, Risk & Safety, Information Technology, and oversight of National Purchasing Programs
