NBC Bay Area is looking for a dynamic and creative journalist to join our award-winning team as a full-time Multi-Platform Content Producer, Writer and Fill-In Newscast Producer. We’re seeking someone with exceptional writing and producing skills, sharp editorial judgment, and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who brings fresh ideas to every shift.

What You’ll Do:

• Write and produce engaging content for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms
• Fill in as a newscast producer on assigned shows and special coverage
• Collaborate closely with reporters, producers, assignment editors, and digital teams to create compelling coverage
• Pitch, research, and develop original story ideas
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news situations
• Help craft high-impact newscasts that connect with Bay Area viewers
• Contribute to innovative storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media and streaming

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience writing and/or producing in a medium sized television newsroom required
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred

Preferred:

• Experience in a mid-market or major-market newsroom
• Familiarity with newsroom systems and digital publishing platforms
• Knowledge of the Bay Area news market
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing to work full-time on-site in San Jose, CA
• Schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage as needed.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary range: $70,000 - $105,000
