    Job Description

    NBC Bay Area is looking for a dynamic and creative journalist to join our award-winning team as a full-time Multi-Platform Content Producer, Writer and Fill-In Newscast Producer. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the best journalists in the business in one of the most innovative newsrooms in the country.

    We’re seeking someone with exceptional writing and producing skills, sharp editorial judgment, and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who brings fresh ideas to every shift.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Write and produce engaging content for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms
    • Fill in as a newscast producer on assigned shows and special coverage
    • Collaborate closely with reporters, producers, assignment editors, and digital teams to create compelling coverage
    • Pitch, research, and develop original story ideas
    • Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news situations
    • Help craft high-impact newscasts that connect with Bay Area viewers
    • Contribute to innovative storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media and streaming

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Strong broadcast news writing skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Experience producing television newscasts in a fast-paced newsroom environment
    • Excellent news judgment and attention to detail

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience writing and/or producing in a medium sized television newsroom required
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred

    Preferred:

    • Experience in a mid-market or major-market newsroom
    • Familiarity with newsroom systems and digital publishing platforms
    • Knowledge of the Bay Area news market
    • Bilingual English/Spanish

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be willing to work full-time on-site in San Jose, CA
    • Schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage as needed.
    • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

    Salary range: $70,000 - $105,000
