    **JOB DESCRIPTION:

    To develop, improve and coordinate manufacturing processes; drawings; and related documents in a manner that will ensure on time deliveries of scheduled projects for manufacturing. Lead and implement process improvements that drive strategic vision.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

    • Develop efficient systems, processes and machines that result in high-quality product.

    • Ensures the accuracy of all engineering documentation and its proper transmittal both internally and externally.

    • Test new and existing production procedures.

    • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to de-bug programs and set-up sheets to ensure that all programs are designed to produce the correct parts in the most efficient manner.

    • Writes processes, prepares drawings and estimates time standards for all orders prior to their release to manufacturing.

    • Design or assist in designing jigs, fixtures, tooling, and special production equipment required to meet customer specifications as needed.

    • Assists other departments on matters pertaining to the development of processes to ensure all pertinent facts are fully and properly considered, including suppliers and customers.

    • Assists other departments in solving or responding to quality related problems.

    • Monitors the progress of jobs released to the production floor, performs time standards and updates processes when appropriate.

    • Participates in the development of process methods and procedures, work simplification practices and other process improvement activities.

    • Keeps currently informed of new and/or improved mechanical engineering technology as a basis for influencing, in a positive way, the direction of future project development and/or application.

    • Develops, maintains, and portrays a high degree of professionalism and technical competence both within and outside the organization, encouraging excellence through

    • Recommends procedures, equipment, and method changes to facilitate the attainment of quality control standards and continuous improvement.

    • Keeps the Plant Manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.

    • Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and “team” approach.

    • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associates degree in Engineering; Bachelors degree a preferred.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Background in setup reduction, process flow and process design. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tool and fixture design, time standards, and machine center capabilities.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or in a similar role. Project Management experience a plus. Experienced with Mastercam, Surfcam or similar software.

    SKILLS ABILITIES: Demonstrated examples of initiative and aggressiveness in managing and completing projects. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with a wide variety of manufacturing personnel and others at all levels. CNC/NC technical ability a plus.
