**JOB DESCRIPTION:

To develop, improve and coordinate manufacturing processes; drawings; and related documents in a manner that will ensure on time deliveries of scheduled projects for manufacturing. Lead and implement process improvements that drive strategic vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Develop efficient systems, processes and machines that result in high-quality product.
Ensures the accuracy of all engineering documentation and its proper transmittal both internally and externally.
Test new and existing production procedures.
Work closely with manufacturing personnel to de-bug programs and set-up sheets to ensure that all programs are designed to produce the correct parts in the most efficient manner.
Writes processes, prepares drawings and estimates time standards for all orders prior to their release to manufacturing.
Design or assist in designing jigs, fixtures, tooling, and special production equipment required to meet customer specifications as needed.
Assists other departments on matters pertaining to the development of processes to ensure all pertinent facts are fully and properly considered, including suppliers and customers.
Assists other departments in solving or responding to quality related problems.
Monitors the progress of jobs released to the production floor, performs time standards and updates processes when appropriate.
Participates in the development of process methods and procedures, work simplification practices and other process improvement activities.
Keeps currently informed of new and/or improved mechanical engineering technology as a basis for influencing, in a positive way, the direction of future project development and/or application.
Develops, maintains, and portrays a high degree of professionalism and technical competence both within and outside the organization, encouraging excellence through
Recommends procedures, equipment, and method changes to facilitate the attainment of quality control standards and continuous improvement.
Keeps the Plant Manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and “team” approach.
Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associates degree in Engineering; Bachelors degree a preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Background in setup reduction, process flow and process design. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tool and fixture design, time standards, and machine center capabilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or in a similar role. Project Management experience a plus. Experienced with Mastercam, Surfcam or similar software.
SKILLS ABILITIES: Demonstrated examples of initiative and aggressiveness in managing and completing projects. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with a wide variety of manufacturing personnel and others at all levels. CNC/NC technical ability a plus.
