The Accounting Associate prepares, maintains, and processes accounting records and financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank deposits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Ensures the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately.
Processes daily transactions related to business dealing including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank deposits, cash transactions.
Communicate with customers and vendors via phone, email, or mail.
Receives and applies payments for customer invoices. Works with customer on balances due.
Matches item received with vendor invoices before setting up for payment; resolves discrepancies.
Ensures balances are consistently coded to the proper general ledger account.
Assists with other accounting projects; prepares and distributes reports as requested.
Conform to the company quality system procedures as documented.
Performs other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Two-year Associate degree in Accounting preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft programs. Proficiency in Excel. Working knowledge of bookkeeping theories, practices, and accepted office procedures – some knowledge of intermediate accounting procedures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or payroll a plus.
SKILLS ABILITIES: Ability to learn JobBOSS manufacturing software. Demonstrated attention to detail.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Able to perform typical office duties. No heavy lifting required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
