    Job Description

    We are looking for a passionate Psychomotor  Instructor with the ability to engage and support all students to promote physical activity among children and young adults. This instructor will lead physical education sessions and provide a health elective to all students. Health electives could include instructing nutrition, dance, or healthy lessons. This is a part-time position consisting of working 25 hours per week.

    The Psychical Education Coach must be committed to preserving the mission, vision, and educational philosophy of the school. This includes collaborating with the school community to maintain a positive learning environment promoting values such as respect, safety, mutual support, motivation, and personal growth. The Physical Education Instructor reports to the Principal.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Embeds the MLC 5 standards (5th bullet)
    • Is responsible for State assessment (ie; administering of test, entering correct data in a timely manner)
    • Evaluates each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge and contribution in working collaboratively and provides the core teacher for report cards.
    • Maintains control of equipment keeping abreast of what is needed and storing in organized and safe space.
    • Creates age appropriate health lesson
    • Has a productive plan in place for incremental weather
    • Demonstrate and explain basic skills and knowledge of formal sports, exercises and fundamentals of body movement.
    • Provides group instruction to fulfill curriculum to the needs of students.
    • Provides appropriate safety guidelines and instruction.
    • Make safety checks of equipment and field areas.
    • Establishes standards of student behavior and maintains order to create productive environment.
    • Supervises students in and out of classroom activities.
    • Evaluates students’ progress in skills and knowledge of team building exercises.
    • Evaluates and keeps records of academic growth of students.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor Degree required (Bachelor of Science or Art).
    •  Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
    • Experience working with and motivating groups of children while maintaining school standards.
    • Great interpersonal skills in order to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Employment contingent upon clearance of Live Scan and TB test results.
