    Title - Multimedia Developer / Video Producer Client: National Science Foundation Location: Alexandria, Virginia Employment Type: Full-Time

    Position Overview

    The Video Producer will support the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) at the National Science Foundation by developing scripts and producing high-quality video content that communicates NSF research, programs, and scientific discoveries to diverse audiences.

    The role includes scripting, video production, post-production editing, and distribution of multimedia content across digital platforms.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Script Development

    Write treatments and full scripts for science-related video content.

    Conduct background research and interviews to support script development.

    Translate complex scientific topics into engaging and easy-to-understand stories.

    Develop scripts tailored for diverse audiences, including students and the general public.

    Use various storytelling styles including informational, narrative, and creative formats.

    Produce concise scripts typically under four minutes in length.

    1. Video Production

    Plan, coordinate, produce, and direct live and recorded video productions.

    Set up and break down cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and production sets.

    Operate cameras during single and multi-camera productions and livestream events.

    Direct on-camera talent and ensure high production quality during shoots.

    1. Video Post-Production

    Edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro.

    Integrate narration, sound effects, music, and graphics into final productions.

    Perform color correction and develop visual storytelling elements.

    Create graphics and animations using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.

    Produce a variety of video formats including interviews, documentaries, and educational content.

    1. Video Distribution

    Prepare video files for publishing and distribution across web and media platforms.

    Add metadata, descriptive text, and closed captions.

    Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for content distribution.

    Provide requested video assets such as B-roll and promotional clips.

    Assist in marketing NSF-produced videos and managing external video content.

    Required Qualifications

    Minimum 5 years of professional experience in video production, editing, and post-production.

    Experience with studio and on-location videography, lighting, and audio recording.

    Experience directing on-camera talent.

    Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

    Intermediate skills in Adobe Photoshop.

    Experience integrating narration, sound effects, and music in video editing.

    Experience leading production teams and managing video equipment setups.

    Preferred Qualifications

    On-camera presentation experience.

    Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite.

    Strong creative storytelling and problem-solving skills.
