  • Responsibilities

    The Municipal Territory Manager is responsible for building, strengthening, and expanding relationships with municipalities, counties, and other public-sector organizations to secure waste collection, recycling, and disposal contracts. This role centers on identifying growth opportunities within the public sector, managing responses to RFPs/RFQs, negotiating long-term service agreements, and ensuring customer satisfaction through close coordination with internal operations and customer service teams. Responsibilities: • Identify and pursue new municipal and government sales opportunities within assigned territory. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with city, county, and public works officials, procurement officers, and other decision-makers. • Manage the entire sales cycle, including lead generation, proposal development, pricing, presentations, and contract negotiations. • Prepare and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and bid solicitations in accordance with company standards and legal requirements. • Collaborate with operations, finance, and legal teams to develop accurate service proposals and ensure contract compliance. • Maintain a thorough understanding of company service offerings, operational capabilities, and competitive landscape. • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market trends using CRM tools. • Represent the company at municipal meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and community events. • Partner with customer service and operations teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention. Qualifications: Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred. • 3–5 years of sales experience in the waste management, recycling, environmental services, or municipal contracting sector required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Strong understanding of municipal procurement and bidding processes. • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Ability to interpret and develop contract language and pricing models. • Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory. Performance Metrics • Achievement of municipal sales targets and revenue goals. • Successful contract renewals and retention rates. • Quality and timeliness of proposal submissions. • Customer satisfaction and relationship development. • Territory growth and new account acquisition. Working Conditions • A combination of office, field, and remote work. • Frequent travel to municipal offices, public meetings, and job sites. • Occasional evening or weekend work for council meetings or community events. Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 yearly
