    TITLE:  VIDEO PRODUCTION NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

    SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL - Secret

    WORK LOCATION: Washington DC

    WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time.

     

    MUSCOGEE STAFFING SOLUTIONS (MSS) is currently seeking a Video Production Network Administrator to work at a Federal facility in Rosslyn, VA . The selected candidate will Serve as a video production network administrator to maintain digital production and broadcast facilities located at the Harry S. Truman Building and adjacent annex. This requirement is for one network administrator to support both facilities to install, configure, and maintain the Global Public Affairs’ Office of Video local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers that are part of the networked, HD broadcast television production facilities, digital editing platforms, television studios, state-of-the-art master control rooms and core equipment rooms integrated systems architecture.

    The Video Production Network Administrator will:

    ·       Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.

    ·       Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.

    ·       Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.

    ·       May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

    ·       Plan, implement, patch, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

    ·       Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. Responds to computer security breaches and viruses.

    ·       Maintain Solar Winds server and dashboards to monitor the network systems and applications for events and outages, create and route tickets to the appropriate engineering teams, and communicate events and outages to management

    ·       Perform pro-active Solar Winds monitoring of network elements and alerts to identify those components/elements that are causing or may lead to service degradation or failure

    ·       Interact with customers and engineering teams in support of both routine and reactionary monitoring situations via email, tickets and phone

    ·       In depth understanding of Broadcast media network Topology and design

    ·       Working knowledge of Live Broadcast media streaming platforms and formats such as RTMP and Mpeg TS streams

    ·       Manage and Maintain Palo Alto FW ACLs and other admin parameters such as VPN access and QOS

    ·       Working and design knowledge of Layer 3 routing, PTP, Multicast, SMPTE 2110, Dante’, AES-67

    ·       Create and maintain System Topology drawings and documentation

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

     

    THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHALL HAVE:

     

    This position requires a unique understanding of traditional broadcast engineering technology, IP transport stream networks and video-over-IP media transport and network architectures.

    •     Expert operational expertise in a live broadcast engineering facility with the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve workflow and transmission anomalies working at a systemic-level.

    •        Install, integrate and maintain broadcast hardware; video and audio routers and switches, digital format converters, frame synchronizers, and maintain facility SDI, AES, HD-SDI standards and dependencies.

    •        Oversee engineering facility IT network infrastructure and video-over-IP media transport network, integrating architectures, installing, testing, updating and maintaining IT hardware, software and firmware, to include PaloAlto firewall and Nevion switches.

    •        Install, integrate, test, update and maintain the AWS-based video-over-IP network of local and remote encoders and decoders as well as transportable and mobile encoding and decoding devices.

    •        Integrate new video-over-IP devices into cloud-based “CORE” routing system, building ad-hoc regional networks as required for redundancy and robust performance.

    •        Systems administrator for Teradek “CORE” cloud-based routing system, adapting and building workflows, performing systems updates and maintenance.

    •        Assists with annual inventory and keeps government equipment clean and organized.

     

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    ·       The successful candidate must be able complete and pass extensive background investigations, and pre – employment drug and alcohol screening.

    ·       Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.

    ·       Previous experience of working with Federal Government Agencies is highly desired.
