MUSEUM EDUCATOR
Position Summary
The Museum Educator supports the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum by greeting and welcoming visitors, providing STEM and Historical Programming that promotes U.S. Submarine Heritage, Assisting with Tours and Field Trips, working as a Team and Maintaining the cleanliness of the Museum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome visitors as they enter the museum
Assisting department leadership with tours and field trips
Presenting STEM and Historical Programs to visitors and students
Working as a team to maintain cleanliness of the museum
Willingness and ability to learn and present new information regarding STEM, History and submarines
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma preferred
Minimum 1 year working in education, customer service, health care, marketing or business
Demonstrate success working in a team setting
Confident public speaker for audiences of varying ages and backgrounds
Enthusiastic lifelong learner
Exhibit reliable behavior
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a museum, submarine, and outdoor environment
Able to stand and walk for extended periods-up to 2 hours
Lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Comply with safety requirements
Work in varying temperatures/humidity
