SUMMARY STATEMENT: Sales Representatives are proactive, passionate, sales driven team members who excel at matching Museum offerings to the interests and needs of our guests. Working primarily at the Museum's box office and secondarily at other cash handling locations, Sales Representatives sell tickets, memberships, and additional venues and products to increase the audience engagement, meet sales goals, boost Museum revenue, and support the best possible experience for Museum of Science visitors. RESPONSIBILITIES: An average of 45 and reaching up to 300 transactions per Sales Representative, per day. This position requires active support and engagement of the Museum's sales programs, including meeting department sales goals, and daily sales may include 1-20 or more memberships per day, and 1-10 or more automatic renewal sign ups per day. Eligible for $2 or more incentive for each Membership sale. Additional shifts may be required to accommodate peak periods such as school vacation weeks and holiday weekends. This position requires dressing in accordance with specified appearance standards/dress code. WORK SCHEDULE: These positions are regular, part-time, with the following schedules available: Shift #306 (9hrs/week) -Friday: 4:45-9:15pm -Saturday: 4:45-9:15pm Shift #317 (9hrs/week) -Friday: 4:45-9:15pm -Saturday: 4:45-9:15pm Shift #321 (7.25hrs/week) -Saturday: 9:30am-5:15pm Shift #323 (24hrs/week) -Monday: 8:45am-5:15pm -Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm -Saturday: 8:45am-5:15pm Additional shifts are also available for pick-up. REPORTS TO: Director, Visitor Services MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or equivalent 1 or more years of sales experience Demonstrated ability to match guest interest to Museum offerings and effectively up-sell additional offerings to meet sales goals Demonstrated attention to detail Proven experience juggling many tasks calmly and efficiently in a fast paced setting Proven success working independently Basic math skills sufficient to collect payment and make accurate change on transactions, compare costs of guest purchase options, or keep accurate capacity counts Proven ability to maintain accuracy in cash handling Demonstrated customer service and communication skills STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). $13.50/hr, including sales commission opportunities.
