    SUMMARY STATEMENT:

    The Account Manager of Social Events serves as the ambassador and primary contact for the social event market segment, including weddings and rehearsal dinners, by selling various Museum spaces and offerings, providing exemplary customer service for both the client and vendors, and outlining the logistics for the event including floor plans, vendor coordination, staffing, need sheet distribution, as well as event flow coordination. The Account Manager greets all clients in advance of events, providing walk throughs and other resources, and is present for check-in upon client's arrival. The position also works with the Sr. Director of Event Strategy, Sales and Operations to outline the overall sales strategy to identify new business and maintain/grown existing relationships. Revenue goals are set yearly, and this position is responsible for tracking revenues generated from all events sold as well as handling the daily event operations of the sale.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Book upwards of 100 social events annually (90% weddings)
    • Develop annual business plan which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding sales quota, upwards of $400k annually
    • Handle incoming client calls as it pertains to the social market and back up for corporate and np sales
    • Handle incoming online requests (RFP's, The Knot, WeddingWire, Here Comes the Guide, etc.) within 24 hours- during the work week
    • Conduct weekly site tours (including weekends) 5-25 per week
    • Issue 100-300 contracts per year
    • Detailing all aspects of social events including: creating event flow, creating floor plans, involvement in client tastings, etc.
    • Meet and greet on average 60 weekend events per year
    • Maintain relationships with area vendors
    • Participate in local Association meetings (ILEA, MPI, PCMA and GBCVB monthly open houses)

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Tuesday Saturday. This position will require a flexible schedule due to event needs and, at times, may be called upon to lead the social event from start to finish.

    REPORTS TO:

    Sr. Director, Event Strategy, Sales & Operations

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Post high school course work, technical degree, associate's degree, business or vocational certificate.
    • 5 or more years of event planning experience.
    • Experience with outbound sales, prospecting, forecasting.
    • Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills
    • Demonstrative written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated attention to detail
    • Demonstrated organizational skills
    • Event planning and logistics experience

    STARTING SALARY:

    Exempt (Salaried). Base salary of $68,000-$73.000/year and is eligible for commission based on quarterly sales achievement.
