    Music Teacher/Choir Director Role at Rainbow Acres The Music Teacher will lead engaging, developmentally appropriate classes for adults with developmental disabilities. This role focuses on building foundational performance skills and preparing participants for off-ranch or seasonal performances.

    Additional Information:

    This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring a high level of responsibility and awareness.

    Professional Responsibilities:

    Educational Support: Assist the education team with lesson planning, and music instruction on Clavinova pianos, hand bells, choral music

    Choir Management: Coordinate choir logistics (caregivers, drivers), direct performances, supervise resident-public interactions, and maintain choir records (scrapbook, sheet music, attendance).

    Equipment Oversight: Maintain and inventory musical instruments, report mechanical issues, and schedule tuning or maintenance as needed.

    Supervision & Collaboration: Oversee staff/volunteers in music classes, supervise residents during choir/music labs, collaborate with Advancement team for Ambassador Choir, and support Christian life musical activities.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Music or Music Therapy (a Master’s is preferred) in addition to 3-5 years of related professional experience including music instruction and experience serving as a choral director; or equivalent combination.

    Keyboard skills essential; other instrumental skills strongly desired.

    Strong organizational and planning skills required.

    Ability to actively engage individuals with Specials Needs in music.

    Some weekend work will be expected to help with resident performances.

    Ability to meet all clearance requirements, including:

    Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Background check

    Pre-employment physical

    Drug screening

    Reference check

    Verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry

    Evidence of strong ethical standards and moral character is essential along with sensitivity to the needs of the residents.

    Evidence of strong Christian commitment is desirable.
