As we prepare to expand to Orange County, we're looking for a part-time, project-based Music Teacher. You'll become one of the first faces of Brella in the community—working closely with our marketing team at events and helping future families discover a new kind of child care.

About the Role
We're looking for a passionate Music Teacher who can teach and inspire children between the ages of 3 months to 6 years old through the world of music. You'll work closely with Brella's marketing team by participating in local community engagement leading up to a new center opening. This is a part-time, temporary/project-based, hourly role expected to average approximately 4-6 hours per week , with hours varying based on event schedule. Must have evening and weekend availability based on event needs, with opportunity to transition into a permanent, part-time position at the new center opening.
As a Music Teacher, You Will
- Teach general music to infant to preschool aged children including harmony, appreciation and ensemble
- Understand and learn the core songs that make Brella in order to effectively teach the students
- Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students
- Provides opportunities for music ensembles through dance and singing
- Differentiate and be able to adapt the music to meet the needs of the student group that day
- Evaluates each student's musical growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute
- Communicates clearly with parents and center staff on feedback to update any content or song list
Experience, Knowledge & Abilities
- Associate's Degree in relevant field (Preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in providing music lessons/classes to children under the age of 5
- Passion and interest in working with children and families
- Must be able to accompany self on instrument (guitar, ukulele or piano)
- Preferable for traveling instrument and multiple accompaniments
- Knowledge of basic chords and music theory
- Confident and creative
- Ability to sing in tune and stay in rhythm
- Ability to learn songs with basic chord charts or by ear
Caring for the Caregiver
This is a part-time, temporary/project-based hourly role. This role is eligible for:

The pay range for this part-time, project-based position is $35.00-$42.00/hour , with final compensation determined based on experience and qualifications.
Physical Demands
- Move comfortably throughout the classroom and center, including lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, sitting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
- Safely interact with and physically support children ages 3 months to 6 years using appropriate child-handling techniques
- Lift children or classroom materials up to 50 pounds, as needed
- Maintain the mental and physical alertness needed to supervise children and respond to daily classroom needs
- Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations, safety concerns, or emergencies
- Follow all state, federal, and Brella guidelines related to immunizations, employment physicals, required health and safety training, and safe classroom practices
