    Join the Asset Maintenance team and make a difference!  PHEAA is seeking customer service professionals to contribute to our public service mission of creating affordable access to higher education.  We take pride in educating borrowers on the long term impact of student loans and their available repayment options to ensure they stay on the right track! In this entry-level role, you have the opportunity to join a professional team, begin a career, and make an impact on students and families nationwide.

     

    SHIFT: Monday through Friday 12:00pm - 9:00pm 

    SALARY: $17.50/hour ($16.50 base rate with a $1 shift differential for shift starting at/after 11:30am) 

    We reward Loan Counselors' hard work and dedication, and their contributions to the Agency's public service mission.

    • $18.00 - After completing six (6) months of continuous service since the most recent date of hire
    • $18.50 - After completing eighteen (18) months of continuous service since the most recent date of hire

     

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deliver superior, accurate and efficient customer service to all borrowers. 
    • Typically on the phones up to 8 hours a day handling complex account issues
    • Will place outbound calls and may receive inbound calls. 
    • Educating customers on account status, various programs, and finding affordable options to pay back their student loans.

    TRAINING PROGRAM

     

    • Asset Maintenance provides a paid 6 week classroom training program which is a combination of lecture and practice on live customer accounts. Due to the volume and complexity, time off will not be permitted during the training period.

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
    • Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • This position will support a federal government contract. Applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. For this level of clearance, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REQUIRES APPLICANTS TO POSSESS U.S. CITIZENSHIP.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Two years of customer service experience.
    • Maintaining a positive demeanor in high-pressure situations
    • Experience in a production environment
    • A willingness to learn about the industry and desire to succeed.
