    Job Description

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Intern is responsible for marketing, and executing marketing initiatives for campaigns, programs, and events for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter. The Intern will perform activities within his or her area of specialty. As a team member, the Intern will work with fellow interns under the guidance of more senior staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our marketing department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and advertising team in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our marketing channels. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. You will gain a broad experience and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities

    • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
    • Perform market analysis and research on competition
    • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
    • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
    • Prepare promotional presentations
    • Help distribute marketing materials
    • Manage and update the company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
    • Help organize marketing events
    • Work with Chapter Staff/ volunteers to develop and strengthen the MAS Greater Los Angeles Chapter.
    • Act as a resource for community members who wish to learn more.
    • Post news items, updates, photos, spotlights, audience interactive initiatives, send emails, and find ways to keep the Greater Los Angeles audiences engaged with Social Media Pages.
    • Delegate tasks/manage chapter volunteers on the council.
    • Be available to act as staff during selected weekend events.
    • Integral to developing the design which will help promote MAS Greater Los Angeles and its various departments.

    • Strong desire to learn along with the professional drive
    • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
    • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics and Google Adwords)
    • Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
    • Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree ADMIN TASKS · Provide entry-level professional services, under supervision of more senior staff as appropriate. · Participate in projects designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization. · Participate in the planning and implementation of projects within area of expertise. · Responsible for assignment planning and problem resolution. · Receives guidance, training and mentoring from staff in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. · May conduct original research and prepare reports based on findings in terms of including recommendations or alternative proposals for action. · Performs miscellaneous job-related duties, as assigned.     • Understanding or interest in social media marketing and advertisement.
    • A demonstrated sense of composition and style.
    • Experience in event planning and logistics.
    • Demonstrated experience design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and similar programs is a plus but not required.

    Other Internship Tracks Marketing and Design Responsibilities ·        Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc. ·        Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences. ·        Assist with special events to promote brand and increase attendance. ·        Research and identify opportunities to optimize content based social media advertisement. ·        Implement of a wide variety of design aesthetics and techniques. ·        Demonstrated ability to create dynamic design elements across a wide array of styles. ·        Ability to adapt design style and sensibility to the specific media form. ·        Ability to be a proactive contributor to the creative process from the beginning of a project through delivery. Program Development Responsibilities ·        Participate in and oversee Youth Council volunteers. ·        Create new events and initiatives to serve Greater Los Angeles Area. ·        Assist in coordination of monthly events and programs. ·        Develop and implement a strategies to raise funds for MAS Greater Los Angeles ·        Support MAS Greater Los Angeles staff in program efforts for volunteer retention and recognitions ·        Research new online resources, community boards, speaking opportunities, and outreach events to enhance recruitment efforts. ·        Develop and maintain relationships with service-focused nonprofits and community groups Requirements ·        Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. ·        Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential. ·        Ability to work as part of a small team on both short term and long term projects ·        Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable. Youth Leadership Responsibilities ·        Plan and implement program monthly goals and objectives; ·        Assist to ensure the provision of age appropriate activities and events for participants. ·        Coordinate activities to meet the developmental needs and interests children in youth development programs. ·        Develop lesson plans for enrichment activities during Revive program. ·        Supervise youth that attend programs, ensuring their guidance and safety. ·        Coordinate weekly program operations including daily set up, youth supervision, program planning and site maintenance. ·        Communicate in a positive and effective manner with all participants, mosque officials, parents, and community members. ·        Create monthly community events for our two sites. Social Justice Responsibilities Under MAS PACE Director, the C.E. Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are: •        Manage the development and implementation of civic and voter engagement programs. •        Advocate for public policy reform on a local and national level. •        Development and implementation of campaign-building strategies. •        Work closely with PACE’s partner organizations to plan and implement joint events and forums. •        Day-to-day maintenance of PACE’s social media account activities. •        Plan events, workshops, and seminars as assigned. •        Assist in recruiting and supervising volunteers.
