    JOB PURPOSE

    The Loan Officer (LO) plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company’s retail branch operations functions. The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent supervision, for fostering quality relationships with borrowers while completing the origination processing of loan applications, providing loan disclosures, and reviewing files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to all guidelines. The LO may contact borrowers to collect necessary documentation and act as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide exemplary customer service via acting as a primarily contact for clients; answer questions relating to rates, locks, and loan application status and provide proactive status updates throughout the loan process
    • Promotes our competitive mortgage products, services, and programs
    • Consults with customers about their current and future needs to help them achieve their financing needs
    • Price and quote a profitable loan and communicate any fees to operations team
    • Responsible to collect and review all needed supporting loan documentation
    • Resolve file problems, bottlenecks, and qualifying issues throughout production and underwriting process, aiming to be as efficient, timely, and accurate as possible
    • All originations and business development activities must be compliant and consistent with company policy
    • Responsible to regularly participate in activities in connection with mortgage sales, including but not limited to attend closings, open houses, and/or conduct seminars/trainings and other lead-generating activities
    • Stay abreast of industry trends; serve as a knowledge source for clients regarding available loan programs and guidelines
    • Maintains minimum standards for production and quality

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years of residential loan origination experience
    • Must have familiarity with Non-QM/Expanded Mortgage Products
    • Must have the product knowledge and understanding of the Mortgage Business to provide an exceptional customer experience and support to your team
    • Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers
    • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and develop relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, accountants, etc.
    • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
    • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office products
    • High school diploma or equivalent mandatory, Four-year college degree preferred
    • Strong customer service/ presentation skills
    • Highly Self-Motivated and proactive
    • Strong business acumen
    • Ability to problem solve and define the root issues
    • Proven recent history of meeting loan production requirements
