    The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANIES (NAMIC) has an opening for a Part-Time Payroll Coordinator in the Indianapolis, IN office. This position provides human resource services to NAMIC and its affiliates with emphasis on payroll administrative activities, handling special programs for staff, and performance review/compensation administration.

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • PAYROLL: Reviews time keeping system for anomalies and asks questions as needed. Monitors employees time records and ensures managers approve them as needed. Enters payroll data for review by finance prior to processing.
    • BENEFITS: Assists Human Resource Manager with benefit enrollment (medical, dental, vision, 401k…) and record keeping for our affiliated entities.
    • INVOICES: Reviews and submits department invoices to accounting.
    • RECORD KEEPING: Assists with maintaining all personnel files and recordkeeping (resume files, OMNI, HRIS) as needed for staff management (attendance, overtime) and as required for compliance. (Check requests, vacation tracking for all entities…)
    • PERFORMANCE REVIEW & COMPENSATION ADMINISTRATION: Creates individual compensation memos, and initiates paperwork for increases into payroll.
    • ONBOARDING: Assist with first day enrollments, new hire paperwork, time keeping training, and scheduling.
    • PROJECTS: Assists Human Resource Manager with audits, budgets, and other projects as assigned.  
    • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Assists organization efforts to establish a productive, professional, and pleasant work environment. To achieve positive employee relations and morale based on NAMIC values, and the creation of a positive reputation for NAMIC as an employer.

     QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

    • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
    • At least two years of experience in payroll.
    • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, and/or related certification a plus.
    • Eye for detail and conscientious attitude about doing things right the first time.
    • Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).
    • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and maintain a clear status.
