  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The HTPLC intern will assist the Hepatitis Team to apply their skills to emphasize advancement on viral hepatitis health-related issues. They will particularly focus on the wrap up of a five-year project focused on hepatitis testing and linkage to care. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting coordination, resource compilation, development, and dissemination to local and federal partners. The internship is a 6–8-week, full time opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    ·       Support the collection of resources and dissemination of project outcomes to key stakeholders.

    ·       Assist in viral hepatitis-related meeting coordination, outreach, and presentations.

    ·       Actively participate in planning and facilitating webinars and calls for jurisdiction’s hepatitis programming.

    ·       Support program evaluation to interpret results of viral hepatitis data analysis.

    ·       Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

    ·       Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    ·       Current Master’s student in public health, social work, medicine, health science or related field OR 5-6 years of relevant work.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

    ·       Interest working with non-profit organizations and/or health departments; and alignment with NASTAD’s mission, vision, and values.

    ·       Demonstrated investment in racial justice and health equity as a guiding principle of your work is preferred. 

    ·       Demonstrated technical expertise and/or interest in viral hepatitis and/or HIV programming evaluation, and familiarity with the viral hepatitis care continuum and demography, preferred.

    ·       Demonstrated competency in data analysis for public health interventions. 

    ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

    ·       Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.

    ·       Ability to work with diverse populations.

    ·       Ability to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail.

    ·       Ability to take initiative and work independently.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING

    ·       Candidates will work remotely

    ·       6-8 weeks (depending on availability)

    ·       40 hours per week

    ·       Interest in working with an HIV and viral hepatitis public health organization

    ·       Interest in working within a diverse work environment

    ·       Pay: $20-25/hour
