    Job Description

    The Manager, Accounting & Reporting is a member of the finance and accounting team. She/he is responsible for working on the month-end and year-end close processes and prepare company financial statements in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America and uniform administrative guidance requirements, cost principles and audit requirements for federal awards. She/he ensures consistent and accurate entry of relevant financial information, as well as accurate analysis and presentation of this information. **This position is a temporary position which may last up to one year

    • Work with finance and program staff on gathering, analyzing and processing financial data in the general ledger.
    • Responsible for general ledger accounting records including: financial statements, trial balance sheet, assets and liabilities, accounts receivable/payable
    • Produce corporate financial statements and statement of functional expenses for the month and with comparisons to prior period and year to date data.
    • Work on financial system and process enhancements and updates.
    • Collect and structure data for the new year budget and track budget implementation on project, cost centers and corporate levels.
    • Timely invoice Donor organizations and track payments.
    •  Work on project closeout and preliminary and final reports in accordance with award and Donor organization requirements.
    • Manage the indirect rate proposal preparation and submission.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or a related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
    • Minimum five years of progressively responsible, relevant work experience.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

    • Strong general accounting experience with working knowledge of Non-Profit accounting and 2CFR200 requirements. Good understanding of Direct and Indirect costs concepts.
    • Well versed in month-end and year-end closing and all schedules associated with those.
    • Experience in preparing and maintaining accounting schedules as well as schedules for the annual audit.
    • Solid Federal and Non-Federal reporting experience with good understanding of cost recovery principles, budget constraints and project closeouts with provisional and final indirect rates.
    • Experience in working with overhead and fringe pools – tracking, rates monitoring and projections.
    • Advanced user skills in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience working with financial systems and general ledger designed to accommodate non-profit setup and various reporting requirements. Knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks desired.
    • Exceptional attention to details and ability to compile clear and complete support documentation packages.
