    Job Description

    The Practice Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective and safe management of a designated NATIVE HEALTH clinical site and its finances. The manager provides overall administrative direction and coordination of clinic service activities and programs including assurance that medical equipment and physical properties are maintained and in good operational condition. The Practice Manager will represent the company professionally and positively to enhance and promote the core values and mission of NATIVE HEALTH, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in customer interactions. The Practice Manager reports to the Health Services Administrator (HSA).    

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    1. Leads and manages staff through mentoring, coaching, and supervision ensuring staff engagement to meet organizational and clinical site goals and objectives. 
    2. Provides fiscal oversight for the assigned clinical site aimed at meeting financial goals.
    3. Directs and coordinates clinical operations to achieve maximum expense control, high quality services, and productivity of staff and providers. 
    4. Regularly monitors, analyzes and reports on the status of NATIVE HEALTH’s assigned clinical practice site.
    5. Provides education, analysis, and administrative information in assisting NATIVE HEALTH in policy development, decision making, and priority setting for the practice sites.
    6. Supports the organization as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    1. Ability to provide a positive team oriented environment.
    2. Customer service oriented. Ability to handle difficult situations.
    3. Proficient knowledge of eligibility requirements for sliding fee, AHCCCS, CMDP, MN/MI, KidsCare, SOBRA and Private insurance programs.
    4. Proficient knowledge of multilevel funding, including Federal, Tribal, State, third-party insurance, and grants.
    5. Excellent financial management and reporting skills focusing on cost containment, reimbursement, and collection practices.
    6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with medical staff, representatives of other agencies, clients, and the general public.
    7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    8. Culturally competent; able to work with a diverse workforce and client population.
    9. Open to change and willing to lead change within the organization.
    10. Professional integrity; excellent work ethic.
    11. Able to manage competing priorities; excellent organizational skills and good time management.
    12. Ability to work independently and take initiative in addressing concerns and issues.
    13. Proficient with computer based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, registries/medical databases, practice management software, electronic health record, and financial applications.

     

     QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
    2. Five years of management experience preferably in a community health center or primary care/family medicine setting required. 
    3. Three years of experience in managing government contracts and grants required.
    4. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
    5. Experience in Electronic Medical Records implementation preferred.
    6. Possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years.  Must maintain a valid AZ driver license during employment. Must be insurable by NATIVE HEALTH liability auto policy 
    7. Must pass a criminal background check with a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety calendar days of employment.
    8. Must pass a substance abuse testing upon employment, and submit to a random testing during the course of employment.
    9. Must have an updated Immunization (IZ) Record.
    10. Must submit a recent report of Tuberculosis (TB) skin test upon employment and provide a TB skin annually.   
    11. Must obtain a CPR Card within ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR card during employment.
