NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in the television news industry. Internships at NBC & Telemundo Connecticut are paid and do not require course credit.
Pay rate is minimum wage.
NBC Connecticut is looking for a team player to work with our multi-platform team. As a Digital intern you will work side-by-side with our team to learn and contribute with the following:
Edit social video for NBC Connecticut accounts
Pitch, report and write news and features for all platforms
Identify opportunities for interaction on social media platforms, as well as finding ways to use graphics and data for visualization
Cut video from linear shows for use on websites, apps and social media
Shadow digital editors, TV producers, assignment desk editors and others
In-depth understanding and use of producing vertical video for platforms like Instagram and TikTok
Program Dates: Summer 2026 (June 1 – Aug 7)
Time commitment is 200 hours per semester

Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT
Desired Characteristics:
Pursuing a major in Digital Media or Broadcast Journalism
Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional
Knowledge of all digital platforms
News writing experience
Familiarity with AP style and Web writing
Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere
Knowledge of the Connecticut market/its metropolitan areas
Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
