    Job Description

    The Vice President, Casting & Talent will be responsible for casting and talent management, including identifying new and upcoming talent, developing relationships for potential placement on a variety of programs, and managing the relationships between the creative executives, producers, and existing talent. The role will report to the Executive Vice President, Casting & Talent, and will work across scripted and unscripted with particular a focus on unscripted shows.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate with Network Executives and Producers to determine their talent needs for presentations, pilots, and series.
    • Identify and oversee talent bookers for various projects, as well as book talent, when necessary, on unscripted shows.
    • Work with Business Affairs regarding talent contracts and provide insight in negotiations as needed.
    • Maintain extensive relationships with talent and their representatives.
    • Identify & meet with various talent for potential development and/or future opportunities.
    • Target breakthrough talent and stay current on trends, as well as foster relationships with emerging talent.
    • Attend various events to scout potential talent & partnerships.
    • Act as a liaison between the talent and other internal and external partners.
    • Manage tracking & stay up to date on the status of talent for projects across the unscripted space.
    • Participate in talent presentations.
    • Organize and run meetings, mixers, and seminars to diversify department relationships with the talent community.
    • Provide analytical and executional support on all talent breakdowns for projects in development.
    • Administer the department talent database and handle ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years’ experience in casting for television productions.
    • Extensive and established relationships with talent, managers, and agents
    • Unscripted casting experience is required.

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

    • Experience in both scripted and unscripted is preferred.
    • Strong communication skills, casting experience and team player who has experience in unscripted casting
    • Understanding of talent contracts and negotiation/deal-making skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the general talent landscape including comedy, music, digital media, and pop culture
    • Established relationships with casting outlets in the Los Angeles and New York areas.
    • Collaborative team player who works exhibits flexibility and is passionate about talent and the entertainment industry, an avid TV watcher, and a strategic thinker.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully across a wide range of functional groups (e.g. Development, Business Affairs, Finance, Publicity, Marketing, and Legal)
    • Established track record of successful multi-tasking, effective communication, and problem solving.
    • Willing to actively learn and continue to grow.
    • Ability to work with and manage expectations of individuals with widely varying personalities.
    • Polished with good interpersonal skills, creative sensitivity, and diplomacy.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high energy environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • HYBRID: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
