    Job Description

    The Apprentice Sound Editor will support the Scripted Episodic Television M&E Mastering workflow. This position would work directly with the Sound Editor for Scripted Television Audio Mastering. Other Audio Mastering workflows for Technical Operations Content Management would include but are not limited to Non-Theatrical Feature Delivery/Archiving, and Library Dubbing Element Research/Service. The Apprentice Sound Editor will be responsible for overseeing processes for the weekly creation of Music and Effects audio mixes (M&E) and working with various departments and editors to ensure a timely delivery of the M&E mixes. Understanding of Avid ProTools and postproduction workflows is required. The role will also require the use of internal ordering systems, researching available material, accurate data entry, rejection research and resolution. Additional responsibilities include tracking material delivery, organizing order details, gathering information through several systems, and close communication with internal and external vendors. Salary Range: $80-90K

    • QC of weekly Television M&E creation and mastering 
    • Receiving and archiving audio assets to studio specifications 
    • Resolving issues due to client rejection of audio materials 
    • Research availability of audio formats, identify best level assets for use 
    • Provide excellent customer & client support and care, addressing and resolving issues and requests, and escalating where needed 
    • Ability to handle and prioritize time sensitive issues and materials. 
    • Ability to collect and relay accurate information about assets both verbally and written format to business partners and vendors 
    • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment 
    • Well organized, detail oriented, and comfortable with multi-step workflows 
    • Highly motivated, energetic, and cordial 
    • Strong skills in Smartsheet, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel 
    • Experience with Avid ProTools 
    • Experience in the Post Production field 
    • 2+ years’ experience with data entry / computer skills 
    • Ability to work overtime when necessary 
    • Ability to work on-site 
    • Required to join IATSE Local 700 Desired: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree 
    • Good decision-making ability 
    • Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups & levels within an organization
