    Job Description

    ** Job Purpose:**

    As an NBC 10 | Telemundo 62 employee, you will have the opportunity to join a fast-paced production / operation team that delivers news programming across multiple platforms. You will be supporting our 24/7 broadcast news group and our Engineering and Operations department.

    ** Job Duties:**

    • Operate camera, sound, lighting and editing equipment to cover live and taped events
    • Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate NBC personnel
    • Gather compelling video, natural sound, and work with others to make sure it meets deadlines
    • At direction of the assignment desk, respond to breaking news obeying all traffic laws
    • Be competitive and measured to make sure NBC10/T62 is accurate and first
    • Interact with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room and acquisition personnel
    • Proficient in lighting, videography, non-linear editing with Adobe Suite, microwave truck operations, Live U and Dejero operation
    • Maintain equipment and vehicles by doing preventive maintenance and inspections
    • Attend editorial meetings to gain better understanding of overall process and contribute ideas
    • Operate with professionalism and respect and take extra caution when in the public’s eye
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Qualifications:**

    • Minimum 5 years as a video journalist / editor in a fast-paced news environment
    • Must have a valid driver’s license as well as a clean driving record
    • Must adhere Environmental Health & Safety standards and regulations
    • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds of equipment at a given time
    • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours at a time (in breaking news situations, may need to stand for longer periods of time – up to 8 hours)
    • Must be able to operate live transmission equipment including microwave trucks and bonded cellular devices like Live U / Dejero
    • Must be able to maneuver small spaces (in/out of vehicles and to be able to take camera shots in tight spaces)
    • Must be able to sit for up to 2 hours at a time (i.e. for editing purposes)
    • Must be willing to work all days/shifts

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Compelling storyteller with a knowledge and command of various camera types
    • Ability to work creatively both independently and as a member of a team
    • Proficient video editing skills under tight deadlines
    • Proficiency with multiple camera types including but not limited to: Shoulder mount ENG, Handheld Camcorders, DSLR/Mirrorless, Go Pro Style Action Cam, Drone
    • Strong editorial, interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools
    • Knowledge and ability to operate communication tools and stay connected with the assignment constituencies (i.e. use of email software, cell phone, messaging tools, etc)
    • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
