Job Description
Are you a social media pro with strong news judgment and a knack for creative storytelling? Do you have experience taking meaty stories and producing easily consumable and shareable social media posts and graphics?
NBC News is looking for an associate social storytelling editor to produce and post creative original content across its flagship social media accounts, with an emphasis on highlighting the outstanding reporting of its diversity verticals: NBC Asian America, NBCBLK, NBC Latino and NBC Out. As a member of the platforms and social team, you will be responsible for planning and executing customized social rollouts for daily news stories and features and ensuring the reporting from the diversity sections thrives and finds audiences on social media. You’ll also work with other Digital teams to assess available visual elements and package them for distribution on various social platforms.
The ideal candidate will know how to craft content that social audiences will find deeply engaging and shareable and have demonstrated success building a following. The role is best suited for a creative thinker who has a deep understanding of the native languages of various social media platforms with some experience in graphic design and video editing.
This position is represented by the NewsGuild-CWA and is based in New York.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
