    Job Description

    Universal Pictures International (UPI) is the International Distribution and Marketing division for Universal Pictures. In the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil and China, UPI directly markets and distributes movies through its local offices, creating campaigns and release strategies that respond to the culture and market behavior of those territories. In other parts of the world, UPI partners with Paramount and Sony in the distribution of all three companies’ films. Universal Pictures is part of NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

    The Manager, International Distribution reports directly to the Vice President, International Distribution and will be responsible for ensuring the high level data quality of distribution communications and administrative systems, ultimately supporting Senior Management in conveying our film strategy and performance both internally and externally. This role sits in Los Angeles and will be responsible for a variety of operational systems and reports as well as supporting the planning and execution of presentations, events and conferences. The Manager will work closely with the Strategy and Analytics team, Global Marketing and Communications and with Regional and Territory offices around the world.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Maintaining internal reporting system “MAGIC” for Universal and Competitive films through title creation, matching and continuity (e.g. rights, dates, estimates, studio, distributor)
    • Closely tracking release plans and strategy, analyzing date changes and creating release date reports for senior management and filmmakers
    • Communicating slate moves, competitive announcements and ad-hoc analysis throughout UPI and territories
    • Creating PowerPoint decks and other materials for executive presentations
    • Box office reporting and analysis on ad-hoc basis as well as regular evaluation of weekend performance, stats, records and competitive analysis
    • Backup approval for Asia Pacific territory contribution reports and ad-hoc requests
    • Working with various partners to track and approve repertory releases
    • Improving territory org database and global distribution lists across divisions
    • Managing invoicing and payment to vendors for all distribution related costs
    • Representing the UPI organization with internal and external partners
    • Drafting and proofreading communications for distribution and media relations
    • Conference, tradeshow and filmmaker presentation planning including but not limited to maintaining comprehensive event calendar, detailed schedules, attendee database, hotel and travel grids and collating presentation decks and materials
    • On-site conference and event support and management
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    The role requires superior organizational and communication skills. The individual must possess the ability to work independently, ensuring the quality of their work independently as well as working collaboratively as part of a team across a variety of business units and international offices. The ideal candidate will also possess:

    • An understanding of the film and/or media markets. International experience is a plus
    • At least 4-5 years of operational or analytical support in the entertainment industry
    • Robust experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
    • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines
    • Demonstrated strong communication skills and a pro-active approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment
    • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and high standards in quality and accurate reporting and communications
    • Flexibility to work outside of “regular” office hours and willingness to travel
    • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive

    Salary range: $75,000-$100,000 (bonus eligible)
