    Job Description

    Our Media Operations Support Team is tasked with providing exceptional support service to all members of our Technical Operations Organization, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and content is received and delivered as expected. The Technical Operations group is based in multiple facilities across the country including Englewood Cliffs NJ, Centennial CO, Los Angeles CA, and is responsible for prepping content needed for domestic and international distribution. This includes transcode, edit and delivery services to meet client fulfilment around the globe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    This is a role that combines broadcast engineering, information technology, and digital media. An ideal candidate will have a background in TV/Film, Computer Science, Information Systems, or New/Digital Media and enjoy operating in a fast-paced environment, interacting with customers, and tackling unique challenges head-on.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Become a fully certified subject matter expert for all systems and workflows the team supports.
    • Monitor & report system health checks and efficiently complete support ticket requests.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and training for the team Analysts.  Function as a shift lead while on duty.
    • Evaluate monthly metrics to identify and resolve recurring issues.
    • Develop best practices and standard operating procedure for new systems and workflows as they evolve.
    • All other duties as assigned.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcast operations, post-production, or digital supply chain
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operational/support-oriented position
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer facing role
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience of all Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel)

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

    • An individual with a very strong desire to learn, take on new technologies and challenges
    • Know your way around desktop hardware, software applications, MAC/PC OS and network connectivity
    • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and escalation skills.
    • Experience working with post-production software such Avid Media Composer, Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro
    • Experience with MAMs for Archiving/Purging/Restoring (DIVA Director and Avid Interplay a plus)
    • Experience with live records, routing and transcodes (Grass Valley iControl, KVMs, DVS Venice, Florical, Avid Airspeed/Interplay Capture, Telestream Products)
    • Experience with digital delivery methods, such as Aspera P2P/Faspex, Signiant, ftp, UDCP etc.
    • Experience with QC Software such as Tektronix, Phabrix Scope, GrayMeta Iris, Switch, VLC etc.
    • Experience with MacCaption for Closed Caption creation, editing and converting.
    • Familiarity with digital media file types (Containers/Codecs) and workflows - QT, MXF, MPG, Mp4 etc.
    • Experience training others and documenting standard operating procedures.
    • Experience supporting customer workflows through operations team and/or help desk
    • Able to multi-task and make effective decisions in a high-pressure deadline driven environment
    • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be willing to work on site at either Englewood Cliffs, NJ or Centennial, CO facility
    • Must be willing and able to work on any shift including, overnights, swing, or weekend
    • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US
    • Must be 18 years or older
