    Job Description

    Academic Year Internship Program:

    • Program Dates: September 18, 2023 –April 19, 2024
    • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    The below opportunities listed offer an extended internship experience which will span the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Working over winter break will not be required.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    Peacock Editorial:

    • Editorial Planning – this intern will have exposure to both our group and other teams through meeting attendance and project inclusion. They will also be witnesses to and active participants in the various Slack channels the Platforms Editorial group uses to discuss and execute daily work, as well as Slack channels run by external teams. We also look for our intern to participate in a semester-long group project in conjunction with other group interns, with the goal of presenting findings to the Platforms Editorial group at the conclusion of the term.

    • Peacock Editorial – this team is seeking an intern to assist in design and management of imagery used on Peacock. You will be working alongside a team of creatives responsible for visual experience on Peacock; this includes quality assurance (QA) review of art provided by external partners and content aggregators, as well as designing custom art for various Editorial needs.

    • Peacock Platforms Editorial – this team is seeking an intern to assist in metadata management on Peacock. Interns will work alongside a team of creatives responsible for consumer- facing copy, as well as backend metadata driving viewership; this includes quality assurance (QA) review of descriptions and keywords provided by external partners, as well as custom metadata application for various Editorial needs.

    • Peacock Editorial Strategy – on this team, we use performance data to strategize key placement of this content to drive usage. This intern would have the chance to help drive the thinking and analysis behind promotion strategy and decisions, curate fun/clever collections of shows and movies, and use data to report insights on how the editorial merchandising components of Peacock are functioning.

    **Peacock Metadata & Content: **

    • **Peacock Metadata & Content Quality Assurance (QA) **– this intern will help us uphold quality assurance guidelines and control standards for all on demand video in our growing library. Your diligence in operational efficiencies will be immediately reflected on the platform, giving users a relaxed viewing experience that will help us continue to grow in the digital marketplace.

    Peacock Content Operations:

    • Peacock Partner Operations – the Peacock Partner Operations team leads the preparation and readiness workflow for all incoming content at Peacock. We collaborate with post-production teams and movie & TV studios bringing in top performing content from around the world.

    • TVE Video Ops – this intern will participate in daily support and projects across Video Operations, Content Operations, and Content Metadata Quality Assurance (QA) teams.

    • **Direct-to-Consumer Solutions & Operations **– The TVE editorial team is responsible for the editorial curation and programming of nbc.com and the NBC app, as well as programming the suite of NBCU Cable Entertainment network apps, including Bravo, SYFY, USA and others. The intern will gain experience in the workflows for publishing and curating editorial content across the various brand apps, as well as measuring content performance.

    Growth Marketing:

    • Peacock Growth Product (Marketing Technology) – this intern will join the Growth Product team at Peacock. Sitting within Marketing, the MarTech team supports the tools & capabilities that enable data exploitation across our communication channels – enabling global marketing teams to turn prospective users into Peacock Superfans whose use and enjoyment of the service grows over their lifetime.

    • Peacock CRM (Retention Marketing) – this intern is responsible for supporting the execution of retention email and push initiatives. This position reports to Sr. Manager Fan Engagement and Sr. Manager Lifecycle Marketing and will be part of a driven and highly motivated team to create best-in-class email and push marketing campaigns.

    • Peacock SEO – this team leads search marketing initiatives for the Growth Product team and works closely with the Product Marketing team to maximize online visibility for PeacockTV.com landing pages. Through this internship, the candidate will get an opportunity to work on real-time projects from start to finish and develop a solid understanding of search marketing, technical SEO optimizations, and content development.

    Brand Marketing:

    • Peacock Creative Operations – this group is a cross-functional operational team managing the technology and operations for the marketing organization related to production. We oversee a wide array of functions, including the development and management of tools to support the delivery and of production assets. This intern will gain exposure to a variety of functions across the marketing organization.

    The below opportunities listed will be offered for the Fall semester only.

    **Peacock Metadata & Content Operations: **

    • Peacock Metadata & Content – this intern will support daily workflow in a new Direct-to-Consumer service and the opportunity to join the most rapidly growing sector of the entertainment industry.

    • Content Operations – this intern will support Peacock's mission critical video publishing supply chain and quality assurance efforts; continuously monitoring program availability schedules, communication channels, and content servicing handoffs between key workstreams.

    Peacock Video Editorial:

    • Peacock Short Form Video – this intern will be responsible for provisioning scene pulls and trailers that will appear on international products by helping to gather metadata and thumbnails, quality control (QC), and publish through a multi-system pipeline.

    Peacock Content Operations:

    • Peacock Virtual Channels – this team leads the programming, scheduling, operations, and measurement of a fast-growing portfolio of 24/7 linear and on-demand video channels streaming an array of entertainment, news and sports content.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be working from a location within the United States during all hours worked.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • For Peacock Editorial: Knowledge and experience designing for digital design best practices. Intermediate experience with Photoshop is preferred.
    • For Peacock Platforms Editorial: Metadata support or copywriting experience in a classroom or freelance setting is largely desired.
    • **For Peacock Metadata & Content Quality Assurance (QA): **Understanding of digital content QA and QC governance is a plus.
    • For Peacock Short Form Video: Basic understanding of digital video file formats, publishing workflows, and troubleshooting techniques.
    • For Content Operations: Basic knowledge of metadata related programming/markup languages, syntaxes and database management including, but not limited to: XML, JavaScript, JSON, SQL.
    • For Peacock SEO: Passion for SEO and digital marketing. Basic understanding of organic search (algorithms, ranking factors, copywriting).

    The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00.

    The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $20.00.
