    Job Description

    MSNBC is looking for an experienced Associate Producer for The Rachel Maddow Show.

    This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.

    ** Responsibilities:**

    • Assist in overseeing both remote studios and communicating with control room while show is on air
    • Arrange phone interviews for broadcasts during live, breaking news coverage
    • Assist host in the field when traveling
    • Enterprise, conceptualize and pitch story ideas
    • Conduct research on political and legal issues to be used ahead of special coverage and other platforms
    • Fact check scripts for Alex Wagner Tonight and The Rachel Maddow Show
    • Edit clips of The Rachel Maddow Show and Alex Wagner Tonight for social media using Premier Pro
    • Provide daily support by managing calendars, printing scripts, etc, when needed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Basic Qualifications:**

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • Must have at least 2 years’ production experience.

    ** Desired Qualifications:**

    • Sound journalistic judgment and strong writing skills
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
    • Strong knowledge of social media
    • Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines
    • Knowledge of Avid/Media Central and iNews preferred
