    Job Description

    Spring 2024 Internship Program:

    • Program Dates : January 16 – April 19, 2024
    • Time Commitment : 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Unscripted Development- Lifestyle, Crime, Documentary : Prep for, attend, and participate in weekly development meetings, conduct research and create documents tracking talent, competition, industry trends and new show ideas, watch cuts of new programming in various stages of completion, providing feedback and assisting with the creative process, manage, update and take ownership of grids outlining various information pertaining to slate of series in development, research case checks for crime development projects, provide creative input on pitches, cuts, casting, talent bookings and digital extensions
    • Entertainment Production Operations : The scripted intern will work with the scripted Production & Operations team on various scripted projects across the networks. We as a department oversee all scripted series and MOW for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming (Peacock, NBC, USA, SYFY & E!) to ensure they stay on time and budget, adhere to company policies and submit the necessary deliverables. An intern will get a broad overview and understanding of physical production and how it is tracked at the network level
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements :

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.

    Desired Characteristics :

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Strong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Social media savvy and awareness of latest global trends
    • Interest in production/development, casting and/or talent management, unscripted content, entertainment news and pop culture
    • Script coverage experience preferred, but not required
    • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop preferred, but not required

    The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
