    The VOD Engineering team is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing engineering team responsible for building and supporting business critical video workflows, systems, and video-related cloud solutions.

    What the VOD Workflows team does

    • Responsible for the automated media pipeline delivering content to Peacock’s Global Streaming Platform
    • Troubleshoots issues arising in the VOD workflow.
    • Configures encoding of video, audio, and subtitles for delivery across various platforms/devices.
    • Research new technologies and innovations in the stream media industry for use in our system
    • Collaborates with Operations, Player, and Client teams to drive innovation and improvements in video delivery.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Work in a team (and independently) to deliver the QA Testing of our VOD workflow system that provides content to NBCU streaming platforms.
    • Using established QA processes, design, implement and execute both manual test cases and automated test cases for all software features and all encoding and packaging combinations.
    • Approximate ratio of test implementation: 80% Automation / 20 % Manual
    • Execute established automated regression suites and analyze and document results.
    • Troubleshoot failed tests and partner with the VOD Engineering teams to identify defects for remediation.
    • Communicate collaboratively with the VOD Engineering teams, project stakeholders and other QA teams.
    • Be a positive team member with a proactive approach to working, including taking responsibility and sharing knowledge.
    • Continuously learn, improve, and optimize processes and ways of working.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and executing QA automation tests.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, debugging and decision-making skills.
    • Programming Languages: Python (required), Go (desired)
    • Applied experience with:
    • Cloud-based technologies, specifically within architecture/infrastructure (AWS)
    • Validation and verification of RESTful APIs. Familiarity with Postman or similar tools.
    • JIRA with Zephyr, or other test management tools experience.
    • Ability to integrate into a large agile development project and manage rapid development cycles.
    • Knowledgeable of testing methodologies, test practices, and terminology and capable of applying them independently and collaboratively.
