    Job Description

    The Finance Manager, USH Sales Events & VIP, provides full P&L Financial Strategy, Planning, Reporting, and Analysis for USH Special Events (Sales & Operations) and VIP teams. This role must maintain both revenue (ticketing) and cost (program choice & accounting) management responsibilities to drive financial results. For Sales Events, this spans initial Sales strategy/pitch to final event execution and post-event bookkeeping. For VIP, this spans daily cost, ticket pricing, and capacity management assistance to optimize results. Additionally, this role leads financial accounting/reporting for month-end close, planning of annual budgets/quarterly estimates/monthly pacing, and strategic analysis of business trends/event profitability/process opportunities. This individual, along with one Financial Analyst direct report, will work closely with Sales, Special Events and VIP management, USH FP&A, and UDX Pricing teams.

    ** Responsibilities**

    Sales Event Financial Strategy, Accounting, Analysis, and Planning :

    • Lead business cases (e.g. strategy, pricing, cost) for all sales events to ensure balanced business context, incremental revenue, and successful event execution at or below planned cost. This helps optimally prioritize occasionally competing choices between discrete Sales Events and broad Theme Park profit.

    • Lead and maintain necessary accounting infrastructure to not only accurately close monthly (cost & revenue booked or accrued), but also track each event against its individual business case and group financial plans.

    • Work with both functional and finance partners to reconcile actuals vs estimates and report full Event P&Ls for performance management and executive communication.

    • Partner with Sales Event Leadership (e.g. Sales, Pricing, Operations, etc.) to create Budgets aligned with broad USH business objectives and available resources. Provide reforecasts of the year as needed.

    VIP Financial Strategy, Accounting, Analysis, and Planning:

    • Manage a full P&L with inputs from several departments and sources, including Attendance, Revenue, Cost, and related operating metrics. Additionally support weekly executive business review slides.
    • Maintain necessary accounting infrastructure to accurately track, analyze, and manage cost at a detailed level, including labor, operating expense, Moulin Rouge venue capital investment, and other ad hoc support like matching daily guide capacity with sales inventory potential for most efficient cost management.
    • Partner with VIP Leadership to create Budgets aligned with broad USH business objectives and available resources. Provide reforecasts of the year as needed.

    Team Leadership:

    • Manage a Financial Analyst direct report, providing training, guidance, and support.
    • Actively engage in the Analyst’s cost detail and accounting tasks to understand base journal entries as well as diagnose and address issues, likely by assisting in the execution of month-end tasks for accurate cost and revenue recognition.
    • Seek process and system improvement to enable elevated contributions beyond base day-to-day transactional work.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
    • 6 plus years of Finance experience preferably supporting a consumer focused business
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong Computer / Analysis Skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong Finance and Accounting aptitude, including the ability to understand key concepts down to the detailed transactional level, to ensure financial recognition accuracy and ensure optimal/efficient process
    • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

    ** Desired Characteristics**

    • Experience in using and managing budget/planning systems (SAP, Hyperion, Business Objects, Cognos, etc)
    • Experience managing detailed cost actuals and performance, including accounting and month end entry complexity
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to all levels of the organization
    • Resourceful problem solver, with the ability to prioritize and create approaches to meet required objectives
    • Demonstrate leadership values and ability to develop and participate in diverse/cross-functional teams
    • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and influence a wide spectrum of customers
    • Ability to maintain a big picture perspective as well as be detail-oriented is essential
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Effectively handles sensitive and confidential matters
