    Job Description

    Noticias Telemundo is looking a for an Anchor/Correspondent to join our news team.

    The Anchor/Correspondent will be responsible for presenting live broadcasts mainly

    Noticias Telemundo Ahora streaming news shows, breaking news, and special

    programming. The Anchor/Correspondent has a strong editorial background, follows

    current news events, contributes to the gathering of information for streaming,

    broadcast and digital. Anchor can do breaking news with a high degree of skill. Generate

    story ideas, write stories and packages, do research, and have social media knowledge.

    The Anchor/Correspondent can work under pressure and strict deadlines. Willingness to

    work early morning shift, nights, weekends and have flexible hours for last-minute

    scheduling changes.

    Job Duties:

    • Contribute to the editorial line of the day.
    • Excellent writing skills, able to write clear, concise, compelling, conversational, and accurate copy.
    • Able to work on multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment.
    • Ability to improvise in a live broadcast.
    • Broad knowledge of national and international events.
    • Works in collaboration with linear and digital teams, assignment editors, and production crews.
    • Conduct research for interviews and stories.
    • Work with the entire digital team to develop and produce special content using the resources and storytelling of the entire newsroom.
    • Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working as an anchor or correspondent.
    • Able to present stories on air in a professional manner during pre-packaged reports and live interviews.
    • Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.
    • Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Team player who works well both collaboratively and independently.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Excellent grammar.
    • A basic understanding of desktop computers and ability to learn systems as implemented.
    • Proficient in I-News and any other system for live news production.
    • Familiarity with editing systems such as AVID might help.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes including weekends and early morning shift.
    • Outside of the box thinker.

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
    • Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area.
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
    • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
