  • Responsibilities

    Job Description Role Purpose Manager, Accounting and Reporting, will be responsible for various accounting and reporting requirements for the Filmed Entertainment Segment to NBCUniversal Corporate and external parties. The role is in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth. Responsibilities

    • Key contributor to the quarter and month end close and financial reporting processes, including review of journal entries, variance analysis and supporting schedules.
    • Manage the Universal Stage Productions accounting and reporting processes including consolidation of productions and entity setup
    • Manage the accounting and reporting of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group fixed asset process from requestion to end user reporting
    • Manage and support the Domestic Theatrical Releasing and Focus Features finance team from a controllership perspective, overseeing overhead accounting processes, including bonus and payroll accruals, and assistance with recording relevant overhead entries.
    • Oversee application of ASC 842 leasing standard and relevant accounting sub-ledger tool, including issue resolution, communication, and coordination with Film businesses and NBCUniversal Corporate.
    • Manage and review Film HQ intercompany accounting processes, partnering with NBCUniversal businesses, to reconcile and resolve out of balance activity.
    • Manage and review Film HQ miscellaneous cash application.
    • Review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and data requests, driving proficiency within the parameters of NBCUniversal policies.
    • Perform technical accounting research as required, assist in providing technical guidance to and work with business units to implement new standards as necessary.
    • Manage and develop Film HQ controllership staff.
    • Perform and manage SOX 404 key controls, certification, quarterly reviews, annual audit and statutory audits.
    • Drive initiatives that identify process improvement opportunities and build efficiencies into existing reporting routines.
    • ​​ Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting related experience. Combination of public accounting and private industry, specifically consolidation, experience preferred.
    • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, leases, intercompany transactions, and consolidations.
    • CPA preferred
    • Advanced Excel and Word skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of Analysis for Excel (AOE) / SAP preferred.
    • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills.
    • Strong leadership skills and ability to work with multiple business units/divisions in global territories and time zones.
    • Excellent Project Management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, proactive approach to problem solving.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Previous Production Experience (television or film) preferred. Knowledge of any industry specific accounting or scheduling programs a plus.

    This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
