    Job Description

    The Principal Solution Architect, SAP Streaming Solutions will play a significant role in the definition and implementation of an over-arching application strategy, including architecture, design, and roadmaps. The successful candidate will perform work that is highly complex, varied in nature, and span multiple functional areas, though being focused in one or two. This individual will also seek to ensure the optimum utilization of existing system platforms and their integration while considering and / or facilitating the justified deployment of new technologies in response to business requirements. As a Principal Solution Architect, this role will be responsible for guiding configuration, functional design and managing initiatives relating Subscription business.

    This role will be hybrid out of NBCUniversal's campuses in Universal City, CA OR Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    • Understanding NBCU business processes requirements by engaging with business partners at enterprise and division level.
    • Understanding of subscription related business process and revenue accounting relating
    • Understand the full life cycle of subscription process through SAP S/4 BRIM (SOM, CM, CC, CI/FICA, FICO)
    • Craft adaptable, comprehensive, and feasible solutions by creating necessary blueprint documents for functional requirements and technical specifications.
    • Design functional solutions to solve business problems and needs.
    • Ensure agreement on design with process owners.
    • Review and/or participate in solution build and test activities on SAP implementations, rollouts, or upgrade projects; may be asked to step in to conduct project management activities from time to time.
    • Lead end-to-end implementations plus engage as solution architect simultaneously with other SAP projects that are in progress. This requires cross technical/functional team project management.
    • Effectively delegate responsibilities to team members, provide them with repeatable processes, and verify the quality of their work.
    • Review work performed by other team members as per established standards
    • Review current standards and revise to ensure best practices
    • Ensure architecture diagrams are current
    • Serve as the conduit between businesses and technology
    • Facilitate business requirement definition sessions
    • Review design recommendations to ensure quality and consistency across the footprint
    • Review all SAP functional specifications with regards to media related solution to ensure quality solutions are proposed and not duplicating existing functionality.
    • Perform fit-gap analysis via discovery by engaging with business units and SAP team members
    • Advise on solution roadmap for SAP projects considering current footprint
    • Conduct comparative research and recommend strategies with regards to SAP technologies relating to Subscription related Solutions.
    • Collaborate with peers in the Business Solutions team to apply best practices to integrate SAP applications (ECC, S/4, MPM, VISTEX, BRIM, BW, SAC and BPC)
    • Assist in hiring SAP related resources, vendor selection, product selection, strategy related to SAP solutions.

    This is considered a senior role within the SAP team. NBCU SAP team has approximately 90 team members and this role is expected to provide solution leadership to the entire team such as help resolve difficult scenarios, decision making under conflicting situations, build relationships with business partners and ensure solutions are feasible as per business needs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Commerce, or Business/Finance from an accredited institution or equivalent
    • 12+ years of progressive SAP hands on experience leading up to Architect level work in a consultative and/or IT capacity with at least 5 SAP project implementations of high complexity, large scale and global user base
    • Participated in a compete life cycle of a BRIM deployment (Design, Build, Test and Support)
    • Expertise on SAP S/4 BRIM integration across SAP modules (SOM, CM, CC and CI/FICA)
    • Experience with BP Master data and integration with ECC systems in regard to BP
    • Experience with SAP RAR integration across SAP modules and processes
    • Basic knowledge of BW, SAC and SAP Security
    • Demonstrate excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills
    • Possess interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT
    • Self-starter to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge
    • Mentors team members in relevant technologies and implementation architecture
    • Adherence to IT/SAP project methodologies, and change control processes
    • Familiarity and comfort in working in an outsourced module with onshore and offshore resources
    • Strong/ effective influencing skills
    • Strong/ effective problem-solving skills
    • Conceptual to detailed thinking skills
    • Willingness to work off business hours and weekends as needed in a demanding environment

    Additional Requirements:

    This position has been designated as commutable remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from the designated office location on an as needed/as directed basis. When not contributing onsite, the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly the employee’s residence.

    Salary range: $180,000- $200,000 (bonus eligible)
