    THE ROLE

    Peacock is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Video Engineering – Live team delivering high-quality live video at scale within the Playback Services group. You will become part of a strong engineering culture, where you will work close with video engineers, software developers, other project managers, and technical product managers who build and support live video workflows.

    Within Playback Services, the Video Engineering – Live team builds and manages systems and workflows that deliver all live content on Peacock and NBC Sports DTC platforms, including 24x7 linear streams and major live events. Reliability, quality, interoperability, and security of the content is of utmost importance.  Standards-based engineering practices focus the team to deliver quality streaming solutions at scale.  From ingest to captions to encoding to packaging to origin delivery, you will be part of what makes Peacock a great streaming platform.

    The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day scrum management of the teams responsible for the Peacock TV Direct-to-Consumer live workflows.

    As a member of the Video Engineering – Live team, you will play a key role in delivering the quality and reliability of the live encoding and packaging space, ensuring efficient project, task management, process evolution and streamlining, as well as coordination of projects with the broader PMO team. You will work closely with key vendors, developing solutions side by side, and you will embrace diversity as part of an inclusive and flexible workplace. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Implement Agile approach to organizing projects, prioritizing tasks, estimating work,  and velocity tracking
    • Lead regular SDLC-focused meetings to track engineer/project progress, clarify requirements, assign projects, track completion and report team metrics
    • Own and communicate sprint delivery dates to relevant stakeholders
    • Manage the Change Management requests through review and approval
    • Facilitate sprint planning, sprint demos, retrospectives, and bug scrub sessions
    • Organize project intake, prioritization, assignments and completion for the Advanced Media Engineering team
    • Good understanding of the technical development status to escalate delays early
    • Manage dependencies and facilitate collaboration with external teams during sprint execution to effectively mitigate risks, track, and resolve blockers from the development
    • Facilitate Product Owner sign-off and coordinate production releases with development teams
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with OTT video workflows, software development, and web technologies
    • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Agile software development project management or a similar role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
    • Experience in Project Management tools such as Jira, Confluence, SmartSheet, MS Project
    • Minimum two (3) years’ experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project/product management, and strong formal presentation abilities
    • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent training preferred
    • Experience in Television/Broadcast, Digital Media, Cloud/Platform Operations, or related field preferred
    • Knowledge of OTT streaming protocols such as CMAF, HLS, DASH preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
    • Experience with interactive media, mobile design & app development preferred
    • Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and proactive in solving issues
    • Self-motivation and resourcefulness
    • Energy, commitment and solution focused, ability to perform under pressure and meeting stretch targets
    • Team player, ability to work in global environment
