    The Core Video Roku team is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to our growing
    engineering talent base, building an inclusive and high-performing team.
    As a Roku developer, you will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the
    team to help deliver a high-quality video streaming service.

    Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

    • Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code using best practices to meet product deliverables.
    • Produce design artifacts such as class diagrams and sequence diagrams for Roku library features or client solutions.
    • Implement new features and enhance existing code to increase operating efficiency and extensibility and/or adapt programs to new requirements.
    • Help the team with estimation of features/tickets as a part of the scrum ceremonies.
    • Generate product documentation for releases.
    • Write clean, concise, readable code that follows common design patterns while adhering to best engineering practices.
    • Ensure quality and confidence in software by writing effective automated unit tests.
    • Develop prototypes and proof of concept projects to test the modern technologies or ideas.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of software development in applicable technologies OR 2+ years of working
    • specifically on set-top / OTT platforms.
    • Experience with the Roku SDK.
    • Strong skills writing and testing BrightScript.
    • Value collaboration with teammates and stakeholders.
    • Enthusiastic for building a Roku library that handles all aspects of video playback,

    Additional Desired Characteristics

    • Experience with BrighterScript is a major plus.
    • Enthusiastic to problem-solve and explore new viable solutions.
    • Experience working with video-on-demand and/or linear video playback.
    • Desire to learn more about video playback technologies.
    • You are an energetic, reliable, and hard-working developer who is willing to jump into any tough assignment you are presented with.

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
