    Job Description

    2023 – 2024 Academic Year Internship Program:

    • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Campaign Project Management: The Creative and Production team creates and produces all show materials (key art, promos, press junkets) pretty much everything but the show itself, 360 campaigns. The team works mostly on SYFY and Oxygen, but occasionally works across every cable network with cross-promotional projects.
    • **NBC Brand Marketing & Strategy: **The Marketing and Brand Strategy team communicates with all departments to build strategies and marketing campaigns for NBC Entertainment primetime and late-night programming, in addition to leading promotional activations. The marketing intern will support the brand team throughout these processes, partake in weekly trainings, attend meetings and assist in daily tasks to understand brand’s role throughout a show’s lifecycle.
    • **Social Marketing - Bravo & E!: **Intern will Identify moments from our series in advance of airing to be clipped for social use, monitor social sentiment on behalf of the networks, write and edit compelling social media copy and schedule content to be dispersed through E! and Bravo social media.
    • Syndication Studios Marketing: Assist the NBCUniversal Syndication Studios marketing team with the promotion and management of new and ongoing series including The Kelly Clarkson Show, Access Hollywood, Judge Jerry, Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show and more. The intern will create promotional materials, assist with digital accounts, act as a liaison to local station affiliates across the country, and assist on special event projects.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be working virtually from a location within the United States during all hours worked.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Interest in entertainment and/or marketing
    • Knowledge of and strong interest in pop culture, social platforms and our network programming
    • Previous internship experience within a corporate setting
    • Previous internship experience involving promotional content
    • Strong copywriting skills and creative eye is a plus
    • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) & Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud

    The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
