    Job Description

    Summer 2024 Internship Program:

    • Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
    • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
    • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY 3-5 days per week.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Corporate Communications: **** This team brings awareness of business priorities to all employees, helps foster a positive employee experience, educates employees of all benefits and HR offerings, and provides resources and communications tools to leaders and internal communication partners to share with their teams. An intern on this team will primarily focus on 3 primary areas: Digital Content Creation, Event Coordination, and Administrative Assistance.
    • Corporate Social Responsibility: This team oversees the Company’s volunteering and social impact efforts. This is a great opportunity for a candidate interested in the intersection of business and social purpose, looking to deepen their understanding of employee relations and volunteering, philanthropy and cause marketing, while building skills and gaining experience as a researcher, event planner, marketer and communicator.
    • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Corporate: NBCUniversal’s Corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team works closely with Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Communications and enterprise-wise business units to further the company’s inclusion initiatives. Interns will have the opportunity to regularly communicate and maintain relationships with 100+ ERG leaders and diversity practitioners across the company. Interns will contribute to social media strategy and generate custom content for NBCU’s social media channels.
    • Executive Search: The Executive Search team is charged with executing Vice President and above level assignments across the NBCU enterprise. They help identify and attract exceptional leadership talent capable of helping transform the company and make NBCU the most competitive and innovative media company in the marketplace. Interns play an integral part of the team that focuses on research. Interns will focus on proactive pipelining, market mapping projects, and overall knowledge management for the larger team. Additionally, interns will help shape our newly established analytics initiative and continue to build and enhance reporting and metrics.
    • Human Resources, CNBC: CNBC Human Resources interns will be asked to help create and run networking meetings and events for CNBC interns, oversee our intern spotlight series, and help with events and programming for our other CNBC Early Career programs. HR interns will be the go-to for intern questions and work closely with their manager on any intern concerns.
    • Human Resources, Direct-To-Consumer : Direct-To-Consumer Human Resources is a dynamic, collaborative team that strives to grow and develop talent, maintain strong relationships with our clients, and provide new hires with the best possible onboarding experience. You will gain experience performing a broad range of HR and operational support for Peacock and interfacing across the organization.
    • Talent Development, Ad Sales: The NBCUniversal Ad Sales HR Talent & Leadership Development works closely with Human Resources and DEI Team to support programs developed to support the growth, education and development of NBCU’s Ad sales Talent. We are seeing an intern with an interest in the employee development landscape, who will help with the production of our training, learning, and development tools.
    • Talent & Organizational Development, Operations & Technology : The O&T Talent & Organizational Development team is an accessory branch of the O&T HR team has responsibilities that span talent attraction (marketing our innovation and forming partnerships that attract a new pipeline of talent to our organization) to onboarding and retention of talent. The Talent & OD team is focused on three major pillars of our talent strategy within O&T: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; People Development & Mobility; and Talent Attraction & Pipeline. Along with operationalizing programs to help attract, grow, and retain talent in O&T, the Talent & OD team can also be considered a service organization with the ability to advise, ideate, and execute more bespoke talent solutions at the individual, team, or full-organization level. We feel these types of engagements that provide the opportunity to listen and reflect directly alongside individuals to understand their unique experiences are equally as important (maybe even more important!) than our broader, organization-wide work.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Strong interest in the media industry.
    • Strong analytical mindset.
    • Ability to multitask and highly organized.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement.
    • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, Communications, or related field.
    • Executive Search: * A background in any of the following areas: Consumer Insights, Research, Data Analysis, Analytics, Statistics, or similar fields. * Strong analytical mindset.
    • Talent Development:
      • Experience with Outlook/Calendars.
      • Advanced Excel skills are a bonus.
      • Some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
      • Graduate student in Organizational Development preferred; Pursuing a degree in HR, Education, Psychology, Communications or related field.

    The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00

    The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $17.00-25.00
