    Job Description

    Syndication Studios is seeking an experienced, innovative and growth-driven digital leader as Vice President, Digital Strategy. The leader will be responsible for overseeing the digital strategies, businesses and editorial teams for “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “Access Hollywood,” “Access Daily With Mario & Kit,” “Karamo,” and “The Steve Wilkos Show.” This role will be responsible for identifying innovative new digital opportunities and building a premium digital video strategy focused on expanding audience and growing revenue.

    The Vice President, Digital Strategy, reports to the Senior Vice President, Marketing, Digital and Brand Strategy, Syndication Studios and will be the primary liaison between each show’s digital teams, Executive Producers, Syndication Studios leadership team, and other NBCUniversal digital leaders.

    The right candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who possesses a high level of hustle and is passionate about leading teams and building strategic, premium digital brands.

     

    LEADERSHIP:

    • Experienced digital strategist responsible for leading digital teams on Syndication Studios shows with a primary focus on building digital businesses, premium video, and editorial across all shows and spearheading new strategies to build audience and revenue
    • Leader must be a self-starter who excels in managing editorial teams on both coasts.
    • Leader must be skilled in assessing where staff and resources are best deployed.
    • Leader must be rooted in a digital-first strategy with a deep understanding on how to expand brand IP. This includes liaising with executive producers, senior marketing, development, PR, research and analytics executives.
    • Leader will stay up to date on industry trends and competitor’s strategies, analyze metrics and adapt quickly where relevant.

    GROWTH STRATEGIES + REVENUE:  

    • Must be able to conceptualize, build and execute cross-platform digital and social strategies primed for growth (audience, engagement and views) on YouTube, on-domain, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and emerging platforms. Identify key KPI’s for teams to execute.
    • Maintain and grow digital revenue and execute new revenue strategies (e-commerce, emerging platforms, etc.). Collaborate with Portfolio Sales teams, sponsorships/integrations to identify digital-first integrations and revenue opportunities.
    • Create a Long-Range Plan (LRP), analyze metrics, identify trends and use metrics-driven thinking to pivot and position brands for success.
    • Develop and manage P&L’s across multiple digital brands. Collaborate with finance team.
    • Manage relationships with partners such as YouTube, TikTok, Meta, Spotify, to ensure that Syndication Studios Digital is strongly positioned to take advantage of new product opportunities and new content strategies.
    • Create a robust digital video strategy (short form, long form, social and digital original programming) across all brands and platforms to broaden brand IP. A deep understanding of digital video production and digital video best practices is a must.
    • Brainstorm and develop digital original franchises for brands with a clear vision of digital video formats and platforms.

    OPERATIONS:

    • Ability to identify business efficiencies and manage multiple team leaders
    • Oversee the technical stack of all websites, applications, live events and video distribution. Work as the key liaison interfacing with technical and product teams across the company.
    • Liaise with legal and business affairs teams. Maintain all digital business contracts.
    • Manage video distribution and internal digital video products across all platforms.
    • Strong familiarity with programming content for streaming platforms and FAST channels.

    EDITORIAL:

    • Strong command of editorial best practices and journalistic integrity is required.
    • Manage brand social leaders to monitor brand sentiment and community engagement.
    • Supervise editorial brand leaders.
    • Strong familiarity with SEO, best practices for on-domain and off-domain growth, web applications and distribution platforms (example: Apple News) is needed.

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in digital strategy and digital business building
    • Experience turning creative ideas into successful audience growth on social platforms
    • Big-picture strategist with the ability to seamlessly execute vision
    • Proven ability to drive revenue streams and growth on each platform
    • Experience driving social media and content strategy within the voice of multiple brands
    • Strong video editorial background
    • Motivational leader: Ability to lead teams to work together and pivot quickly in a dynamic digital space
    • Strong knowledge of SEO and algorithms
    • Strong understanding of digital and social media analytics with the ability to tie results to business goals
    • Experience with scaling emerging platforms and new revenue (ie: e-commerce, social, video, audio)

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
