    Job Description

    The Vice President, Unscripted Production will report directly to and work closely with the EVP, Primetime Non-scripted Programming. This position will be responsible for developing and managing all reality, game show, and music competition primetime shows. This position will also drive creative innovation, improving current IP and refreshing recurring seasons.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Find, develop, and pitch new material to senior management.
    •  Provide notes on stories, outlines scripts, and cuts for projects in development.
    •  Identify new producers, line producers, writers, etc. with the potential for current unscripted development.
    • Supervise the production of multiple pilots/series.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external entities, including but not limited to agents, managers, production houses, producers, writers, and directors.
    • Oversee post-production, including guiding story, style, and creative vision in the editorial process.
    • Work with PM&S to support the green light process.
    • Work with Business Affairs and PMO to close talent and production deals.
    • Support annual LRP Reviews and revisions for unscripted productions.
    • Work with Finance, Legal, Creative, Production Management & external production teams to maximize budget by overseeing key production schedules and workflows.
    • Make notes on outlines, scripts, cuts, and pilot/trailers to ensure alignment.
    • Participate in legal clearance reviews with Legal Department & Legal Production.
    • Participate in creative approval sessions.
    • Work with Production Management to oversee the preparation and vetting of show budgets and schedules, providing feedback internally and externally on viability and risks.
    •  Oversee product integrations or other sales initiatives in conjunction with Ad Sales.
    • Serve as liaison between development and other network departments including publicity, marketing, programming, creative, sales, etc.
    • Ensure that productions run smoothly, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
    • Work with Executive Producers and PMO to solve budget issues.
    • Works under the direct supervision of the EVP, Primetime Nonscripted Programming, and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years of current production experience working in unscripted television at a broadcast network, cable network, or television production company.
    • Successful track record in creating unscripted content.
    • Prior experience ad a development executive at a broadcast/cable network, streaming business, or production company.
    • Experience managing production and post-production schedules.
    • Experience managing and developing reality, game shows, etc.

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Experience working directly within the Hispanic broadcast, cable, or streaming industry preferred.
    • Knowledge of all aspects of contemporary TV production and post-production including digital and social media.
    • Proficiency in TV production of reality, game show, and music competition primetime shows.
    • Outstanding editorial judgment and creative abilities, with emphasis on story development, series production, and strong post-production skills.
    • Strong relationships with the agents, talent managers, TV, and Digital production community.
    • Strong relationships with independent producers and showrunners.
    • Comfortable communicating with on-camera talent.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and high-energy environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree desired.
