    Job Description

    NBC Affiliate Marketing is the liaison between NBCU and its 240+ local stations, the B2B service arm of the business bridging network priorities to the local level through marketing, sales and editorial efforts.  

    OVERVIEW

    Assist head of east coast Affiliate Marketing in all aspects of local station promotion for NBC programs produced in New York for NBC News, Sports, Olympics and Late Night.  Candidate will be involved in project development, planning, execution and station communication. Primary Sports liaison especially for long range promotion.  Point for communication with NBC News Marketing department.   

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and initiate new promotional initiatives and oversee them start to finish           
    • Create and help guide social media efforts for all East Coast programs: Innovate engagement strategies tailor-made for each project, especially Sports
    • Set up and produce station anchor visits for Behind-the-Scenes shoots in-studio and in-market
    • Oversee script editing and scheduling of custom promo taping by NBC talent
    • Support execution of NBCU Diversity project content for station sales and marketing
    • Compilation and analysis of performance data for east coast marketing projects
    • Coordinate specific aspects of participation in events, meetings, conventions
    • Answer affiliate inquiries regarding on-air promos, graphics, news packages, digital assets
    • Support management of outer office of interns and pages, liaise with Page Office and Campus 2 Careers
    • Monitor timely delivery of News, Sports and Late Night on-air promos and graphics
    • Draft and send promotional e-blasts to stations
    • Promo Change Email and Text Message Notifications to stations
    • Gather station materials for co-branded promos and other projects
    • Participate in brainstorming and developing social strategies and initiatives
    • Maintain NBCAffiliateMarketing.com for News, Sports, Olympics and Late Night 
    • Compile PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet presentations as required
    • Interface with NBC News and NBC Sports On-Air promo Priorities and Digital asset delivery
     
    
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS

    • 2+ years of work experience in a marketing capacity
    • Experience working at a broadcast or cable network, a streamer or local television station
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications
    • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
    • Basic Photoshop and/or Illustrator
    • Conversant with Social Media platforms
    • Knowledge of digital video editing a plus
    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
    • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

    • Experience as effective liaison with all levels of internal and external management
    • Ability to write clear and concise marketing messages
    • Ability to organize and display data in Excel, interest in developing that skill
    • Ability to make sound decisions in handling sensitive and critical-to-air information
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform well in high pressure situations

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. 
    • This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
