    Job Description

    ROLE SUMMARY:

    The Junior Publicist is a vital member of the NY Publicity office, helping to execute campaigns for our feature films. The individual in this position will be tasked with pitching and maintaining relationships with select New York press, as well as supporting the publicity team. Exceptional communication skills are crucial as is the ability to instinctively prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Primary contact for various NY press outlets; responsible for pitching and maintaining relationships with those press
    • Responsible for maintaining calendars, schedules, booking cars and updating reports
    • Book hotels for talent that come to NY
    • Escort talent to appearances and various events
    • Work at screenings, premieres and press junkets
    • Fully absorb, understand and prioritize all internal hierarchies and functions; including major national press, filmmakers, talent and industry figures
    • Manage internship department

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 2 years of experience in the entertainment industry specifically in marketing, promotions, or publicity.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime during the week and on weekends, when necessary.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be available to work at the Universal Pictures New York office location
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
    • Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment
    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols in select work settings or where jurisdictionally mandated

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Be able to successfully interact with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside the organization
    • Strong written and communication skills at all levels
    • Excellent computer skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
    • College degree in marketing or related field
    • Flexibility to maintain ever-changing schedules and itineraries
    • Able to work well under pressure and be flexible in an ever-changing environment
    • Must be extremely detail oriented and organized
