    Job Description The Emergency Manager is responsible for the theme park and city walk Disaster Response and Business Continuity Plans and maintains the facility’s various emergency preparedness programs, such as the Floor Warden Program, Disaster Volunteers, and Incident Command program.  The Emergency Manager maintains emergency supplies and equipment, coordinates effective crisis communication policies, and use of notification systems in partnership with Security, Human Resources, Operations, and Publicity, as well as business partners in the NBCU Business Continuity and Crisis Management and Universal Parks Crisis Management teams.  The Emergency Manager drives employee awareness and education programs related to emergency preparedness, development of associated training programs and coordination of drills and emergency exercises.   RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide continuous development of the company floor warden and disaster volunteer program(s). 
    • Develop and manage the facility’s annual evacuation drill program and execution of required annual drills.
    • Conduct facility risk assessments to determine types and risk level of the facility to be addressed in the emergency planning process or provide technical support to others conducting such assessments.
    • Design and administer emergency/disaster preparedness training courses that teach people how to effectively respond to major emergencies and disasters, including the Incident Command training program for management responders.  This includes instruction in first-aid, CPR and use of an AED. 
    • Develop and maintain liaisons with other departments, outside agencies and similar entities to facilitate planning and development, incident response coordination, and mutual-aid use of personnel and equipment.
    • Develop and perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans.
    • Partners with the NBCU and UPR Crisis Management (s) to align and maintain current emergency preparedness plans and programs.
    • Keep informed of activities or changes that could affect the likelihood of an emergency, as well as those that could affect response efforts and details of plan implementation.
    • Keep informed of federal, state and local regulations affecting emergency plans, and ensure that plans adhere to these regulations.
    • Maintain and update all resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans.
    • Propose alteration of emergency response procedures based on regulatory changes, technological changes, or knowledge gained from outcomes of previous emergency situations.
    • Inventory and emergency and disaster equipment, providing instruction in its maintenance and use.
    • Act as public agency liaison during crisis situations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) preferred • 5-7 years of emergency management/team leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Current certification in First aid/CPR/AED Instruction • FEMA CERT instructor preferred • Confident public speaker and training facilitator • Successful completion of the following NIMS Courses a plus: o IS-100.b Introduction to Incident Command System, IS-120.a An Introduction to Exercises, IS-200.b ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, IS-317 Introduction to Community Emergency Response Teams, IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction, IS-701.a NIMS Multiagency Coordination System (MACS) Course, IS-775 EOC Management and Operations, and IS-800.b.
