    Job Description

    NBC News Digital is seeking a performance marketing specialist to help manage daily paid media campaigns for our flagship ecommerce brands, Shop TODAY and CNBC/NBC Select. This role will work under the Audience Development & Engagement team and will be responsible for setting up, optimizing and reporting on in-house campaigns as well as those run through our third party vendors. This role will also maintain a close relationship with the ecommerce editorial team to stay informed of content trends, performance, pacing and goals. The team is adding this role to expand our existing ecommerce strategy, so prior experience in ecomm publishing/editorial, DTC or affiliate businesses will be extremely helpful.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Track, analyze and report daily performance of paid campaigns across social and search
    • Maintain a positive ROI across all paid media campaigns
    • Partner with editorial and analytics team to identify top-performing content to promote
    • Manage a large budget and report on weekly, monthly, and quarterly pacing
    • Perform day-to-day operational responsibilities including article selection, A/B testing, light JavaScript coding, and deployment
    • Communicate with editorial teams and paid marketing partners
    • Identify trends, competitors, and best practices across evergreen content and during tentpole events
    • Track and submit invoices from vendors
    • Monitor list growth, attrition and deliverability
    • Partner with ecommerce writers on daily sends, optimizing editorial content for opens, clicks, conversions and ultimately revenue
    • Perform day-to-day marketing activities including template management, copywriting, creative brainstorming, A/B testing, QA, and deployment
    • Generate and maintain revenue reports encompassing newsletter/SMS earnings and results of varied A/B tests
    • Maintain list hygiene and optimize user lifecycles encompassing sign-up and onboarding, engagement and re-engagement, and opt-out
    • Coordinate with product and design teams on growth initiatives
    • Collaborate on acquisition tactics with the Audience Development team to increase subscribers per each newsletter/SMS program
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of work experience in digital performance marketing or similar roles
    • Experience working within Facebook Ads Manager and Google AdWords
    • Understanding of affiliate marketing and e-commerce metrics
    • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn
    • Working with a third-party vendor to
    • Pull top-performing commerce content (team and editorial)
    • Closely monitor ROI
    • Turn on/off campaigns
    • SEM
    • 2+ years in an email or SMS product or growth function
    • Experience working within ESPs like Sailthru, Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, and SMS platforms such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Twilio
    • Some time working with data analytics tools, such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Sailthru, DOMO
    • Understanding of affiliate marketing and e-commerce metrics is a major plus
    • Knowledge of industry best practices in content strategy and production
    • Opinions on how to connect with audiences and help them find the best shopping deals online
    • Collaborative-mindset to work as part of multiple cross-functional teams
    • Eye for design (or proficiency in wireframing platforms such as FigJam) and basic use of HTML/CSS are also a major plus!
