    Job Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    We seek a talented individual to become the Software Engineer (Sterling Integrator Developer) under the Platform Development and Engineering Experience (PDEX) organization to lead one of our critical engineering teams that offer a wide range of B2B Integration services at NBCU. 

    The Sterling Integrator developer will be engaged in B2B integration development activities in collaboration with various Enterprise application teams, Business stakeholders, and external vendors/partners for NBCU. This role requires an in-depth, hands-on development experience with the B2B integration platforms Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, and Sterling Secure Proxy. The candidate must have demonstrated experience working with a large corporation Enterprise Integration team.

    This is a fully remote role. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop B2B Integration workflows using Sterling Integrator/Sterling File Gateway, Python, or Java technologies.
    • Experience using AWS technologies such as Kinesis, Lambda, Spectrum, EC2, and S3.
    • Knowledge of containerization software such as RedHat OpenShift.
    • Provides management with timely communication on status & utilizes appropriate tools, and develops custom solutions as required to meet objectives.
    • Identify areas for process improvement.
    • Maintain appropriate communication within and across various teams (i.e., internal and external).
    • Provide professional and effective services to internal customers to meet customer expectations.
    • Write design specifications and other supporting documentation for development projects and enhancements.
    • Test case/plan creation and documentation
    • Strong analytical ability
    • Ability to work with all teams and understand code changes and review business requirements and identify any gaps
    • Exhibit integrity in all decisions and actions
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Azure

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Sterling Integrator business process development using BPML/Modeler.
    • Hands-on experience with Sterling File Gateway routing template development and channel configuration to onboard B2B integration.
    • Knowledge of xpath and regular expression.
    • Hands-on experience in Sterling Secure Proxy configuration.
    • Knowledge of networking and communications protocols (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, AS2, FTP, SFTP, FTPS), including security, certificates, and keys.
    • Knowledge of XSLT, Codelist, Custom Protocol, and SFG channel setup.
    • Knowledge of PGP/GPG Encryption/Decryption and Key management.
    • Knowledge of the SAP Suite Adapter configuration, including RFC, BAPI, function module triggers, etc.
    • Experience with Atlassian tools - JIRA and Confluence.
    • Hands-on experience in Linux commands/shell/Python scripting.
    • Provide L3 support to the operation team for resolving critical issues or outages.
    • Collaborate with the Infrastructure, Business, and Technical teams to support and resolve Integration issues.
    • Follow ITIL standards such as Change Management, Application Support requests, etc.
    • Consistent focus on Automation & Operational improvement, driving cost efficiencies.
    • Regular cadence with Business Technical teams assessing overall service delivery effectiveness.
    • Demonstrate indigenous contribution within the first 12 months in areas of Automation and Enhancement.

    • B2B Integration development experience as an engineer
    • A B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred 
    • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse team of varying skill sets and proficiencies. Able to lead and instruct or take direction when appropriate. Effective in-person, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Experience working in large, multifaceted, and matrixed organizations
    • Collaborative team player accustomed to working within and across groups
    • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage time effectively
    • Ability to translate business process needs into precise technical requirements
    • Ability to influence internal and external team members without direct reporting authority
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to relate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
