NBCUniversal’s Infrastructure and Services team is looking for an Engineer with expert-level knowledge of full stack application support and SRE practices.  Our team integrates, upgrades, and supports applications within on-premises and public cloud infrastructure. We are involved in the full lifecycle, including tasks that go beyond basic setup – testing, tuning, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting of newly built and upgraded systems. The candidate will lead the design, integration, and ongoing maintenance of applications with a focus on platform management and site reliability.  In addition, the candidate must also collaborate with many other technical teams (e.g., AD, Network, Compute, Storage, Security, and Operations) and help drive continuous improvement initiatives for automated provisioning, application deployments, and monitoring of systems within our data centers. Areas of Responsibility

    • Subject Matter Expert in full stack application support & site reliability
    • Perform root cause analysis of production errors, identify issues, and develop solutions
    • Assist in scoping, design, and project work estimations
    • Own responsibility for the technical quality of our team’s solutions delivery; describe architecture decisions and rationales at a detailed level to both client and internal teams
    • Own Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery initiatives while working with other technical leads to define and maintain compliance with organizational standards
    • Collaborate with Cyber Security and identify solutions for remediation of vulnerabilities
    • Participate in 24/7 support by acting as an escalation point for production issues
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team colleagues

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or commensurate experience

    • Must be willing to travel, infrequently, to our locations in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, Centennial, CO, & Universal City, CA

    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US

    • Skill Sets

    • Experience with Git, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and Jenkins

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code

    • Ability to integrate DevOps tools into end-to-end pipelines

    • Experience with at least one or more Object Oriented Supported Languages

    • Familiar with public cloud (AWS and Azure) service offerings

    • Experience integrating software test automation

    • Excellent understanding of OS management and features (RHEL, OEL, Windows)

    • Demonstrated grounding of cybersecurity best practices, shift left thinking

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in a media environment preferred (broadcast or production)
    • Knowledge of video transcode, encode, and decode a plus
    • AWS or Azure certification strongly preferred
    • Familiar with ITSM and Agile methodologies
    • Experienced with ServiceNow and JIRA
    • Working knowledge of Single Sign On authentication
    • Skilled at making decisions and problem solving
    • Ability to communicate with external customers in the resolution of support issues
    • Flexible work schedule with ability to work after hours and weekends as required
