    Job Description

    NBC Sports Next and Fandango business groups, NBCUniversal companies, are hiring an Analyst, Finance and Strategy Initiatives. This role, reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategic Growth Initiatives, will be responsible for supporting the development of strategic and medium-range initiatives, including strategic planning, financial modeling and analysis, research and development, and strategic partnerships and implementation. This is primarily a project-based, consultative role best suited for individuals that enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment with executive exposure.

    Job Duties

    • Facilitate the evaluation of new business development opportunities including new markets, customers, products, categories, and paths to market, either through acquisitions, investments, licensing, and or partnerships
    • Partner with corporate development, marketing, finance, technology, and key business leaders to understand and align on M&A activities and integrations
    • Assist in the development of strategies and alignment to be ahead of industry trends and fully utilize company capabilities to maximize growth
    • Use internal and external information to create financial models and projections to inform the business on the economic viability of various projects and decision points
    • Partner with internal teams to vet existing opportunities, deal structures, and resource requirements
    • Conduct market research including but not limited to: Competitor analysis, market share & positioning, consumer sentiment, and macro-economic projections
    • Own analyses (both one-off and weekly/monthly) that provide actionable insights into metrics, issues, and opportunities
    • Align with Revenue Operations and FP&A team to provide financial projections for new products during budget and forecast planning
    • Build clear and concise presentations that summarize findings and lead to clear recommendations
    • Provide support for executive projects and presentations on ad-hoc basis

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in business or relevant field
    • 2+ years of professional experience with a focus on strategy, private equity due diligence, and/or operational management
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic aptitude, with the ability to transform quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations and communicate them in a concise and compelling way
    • Ability to apply strategic thinking and financial modeling to provide informed opinions for business decisions
    • Ability to thrive in highly ambitious and fast-paced settings and navigate multiple competing priorities to drive initiatives to completion
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships on a cross-functional team and partner with leaders across a complex business matrix and operational environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with utilizing various formulas and functions
    • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent QA habits

    Desired Qualifications

    • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management and able to help translate the needs of the business into strategic recommendations and solutions.
    • Relevant work experience with M&A Operations for a private equity firm, a top consulting firm, or a strategy department of a Fortune 100 firm
    • Proven track record to recognize industry change and develop an understanding of long-term implications

    Additional Job Requirements

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
    • Must be willing to work in the Minneapolis, MN office
